I was 29Y/31s back when it was strategic satellite communications, microwave was another 30-series. Basically expect to do a lot of heavy electronics school once you are done with basic training. 99.9999% odds are you are going to Fort Gordon, GA to do your MOS.

If you do go to Gordon, make sure you take good care of your legs. The running track where you will do most of your PT is a mix of clay and sand and plays hell on your ankles, shins and knees. The injury rate back then was so bad they actually came up with a course on how to pick the right running shoe for your running style.

After you are done with Gordon they will send you to an active duty unit. Since microwave is mobile, expect to be sent pretty much anywhere the Army goes.

If you like working with computers and info systems, go for it. You might want to take a look at the critical MOS lists if you are national guard though, but if not, 25P sounds cool.

I would have gone 11B. Good luck though.
