Recently there was a backup under the house. The sewge is gone but the smell is still there.

I would set up a fan and dry it out as soon as you can. If it stays moist, it will keep smelling longer.

Make sure you have positive airflow in the crawl space. The air needs to flow through the crawl space to remove the smell.

hardware stores sell enzyme deodorizers that attack the bacteria that cause the smell. They work well.

you can start off by pouring bleach down the drain. it sounds as if your plumbing has the wrong run off pitch.also check the pipes ventilation
