Am I am not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?

If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord.

Mine answer to them that do examine me is this,

Have we not power to eat and to drink?

Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?

Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working?

1 Corinthians 9

the MAIN qualification is to see Jesus with their eyes! has this man or anyone claiming to be an apostle seen Jesus face to face? if not, they aren't qualified.

Qualifications Of An Apostle

The apostle had to have been an eyewitness of the resurrected Lord, Acts 1:22; 1 Cor. 9:1.

Also, their qualifications (faith, belief, life style, etc.) should be greater than those of elders or bishops since they held a superior office in the Church.

He is an apostle, his dad is the bishop, his brother is the prophet, and his mother is the pastor ... that all sounds very strange, very irregular.

First, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE away from that church. It is horribly out of balance from the scriptures.

Second, Apostles were "qualified" because they were chosen directly by Jesus.

Even in replacing Judas' empty spot among the Apostles, the rest of them drew straws between two followers, Barsabas and Matthias. The lot fell to Matthias, and he was welcomed by the 11 as their 12th Apostle, Judas' replacement. Acts 1:23,26

But, that's the last we hear of him.

Jesus, however, met Saul on the Damascus Road; blinded him for three days; and ministered to Saul (now the Apostle Paul) on the backside of the Arabian Desert.

Paul is the one used mightily to spread the Gospel to the Gentiles.

Apostles are appointed by Jesus Christ, never picked by men, or chosen by drawing straws (lots).

Well there is a vast cultural chasm between leadership designations in different churches. In the Greek and in the Bible, an "apostle" means one who is sent forth to preach the Good News. Sounds like you could use a little bit more sending forth of some people which would be good news.

First of all anyone who calls himself an Apostle should be suspect because while that is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit someone who takes that title probably has a problem with pride and self exaltation. I know a man who has planted 40 churches in his native country of India who was preaching at my church this past weekend and he would never go around calling himself Apostle Zac (his first name is Zac).

Secondly, there are standards for everyone who holds a position of authority in the church even if they are only a deacon who sets up tables and serves food to the saints.

1 Timothy 3:1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; 3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; 4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; 5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?) 6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. 7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. 8 Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; 9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. 10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless. 11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. 12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

Anyone who acts in the manner that you describe and whose father permits it instead of rebuking and admonishing him is not an Apostle of God and his father isn't a bishop of God either. It sounds to me like a synagogue of Satan and I would stay as far away from it as possible because God and his Word are obviously not honored in that place.

The Apostles were hand picked by Jesus when he was living.
The Apostle Paul was chosen by the resurected Jesus on his way to Jerusalem in a powererful bright light, personaly and was told by Jesus what to do.
All the Apostles are dead and are with Jesus in the heavens.
There are no Apostles here on earth today.

Qualifications: You need to have been one of the 12 who were with Jesus. If you are one of those 12 you automatically qualify as an apostle.

Poetic1 is correct. The twelve were disciples. Paul was considered an apostle because of his Damascus Road experience. Apostles have seen Christ.
