I have seen people in churches criticise others for not being what they thought these others should be - these people did not have their eyes on Jesus. I have seen others ape pastors and evangelists - who do these people have their eyes on?

If we keep our eyes on Jesus, we will become like Him. Those who look at us will see Jesus in us and we can direct them to look at Him.

Many people go to church and come away feeling that the place is full of hypocrits. They feel that they are looked down on because they are sinners and hear the "christians" talk about each other. This is because the "christians" are looking at everyone but Jesus and many are christian in name only.

I say this to myself as much as to anybody else, we all need to keep our eyes on Jesus. As we do, 2 Cor 3:18 tells us we will become more and more like Him. Sounds good to me!

As we are becomming more like Jesus we won't make others around us feel bad, we won't back bight and won't talk about others. We will be guided by "love God and love others". Others will be drawn to us and drawn to Jesus.

"Father, help me to keep my eyes on Jesus and not on those around me. In Jesus name, amen".

2 Corinthians 3:18 "But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord."

We often delight in sifting gnats, making issues out of things that aren't important. If someone becomes a Christian, some in the Church seem intent on shaping him to be conformed to their own image, rather than the image of Christ. They feel that he should dress, look, believe, speak, eat, and breathe just as they do.

When someone comes to the Lord, he may not look as we think he should. His hair may be long, his clothes may be radical, he may have an erring in his ear, but if these things are wrong, God will speak in his ear. In the meantime, He may be ministering to him about the need to return stolen goods, or about seeking forgiveness from those he has wronged in the past. Those are the things that matter to God.
