I'm going to ask this question again, though I'm sure it has been heard many times.
I met a guy at a bar and he asked me out for dinner. I really just met him but I have some friends who know he is a nice guy. He is also about 5 years older than me which is a minor detail.
I also just recently met up with an old friend. I havn't been updated in his life recently, but I know when we used to hang out and from the stories he now tells, he is still the awesome person I remember. He just admitted to liking me back in the day as well. We also ended up making out just last weekend at a party and he wants to become a couple. But, we live 2 hours away from each other, and the first guy works in the same town that I do.

Do I become exclusive with the second guy, never giving the first guy a chance or should I maybe get to know the first guy and possibly break my friends heart?

I have a philosphy i use when it comes to dating. Only tell them what they NEED to know...so this friend guy is on a need to know basis. Now if you feel like if you go out with the bar guy just to make sure you are makin the right decision with friend guy then i say go for it. You and friend guy are not exclusive yet and until then you have every right to see whoever you want. Besides its not like you are going to jump in bed with bar guy are you? And if you do so what....you arent with anyone YET...and why does friend guy need to know all that.....

Would you rather travel 2 hours for a guy you really like opposed to travel twenty minutes for an asshole.

I would recommend you go with the guy you like most. One you are more compatible with and keep the other as a close personal friend. Incase the first relationship doesnt work out, you can always start dating the second guy. Of course with time in between to get over the first.

Forget the guy from the bar. You would only be dating him for convenience and your heart would never be in it. It's not fair for either of you. You should instead pursue your relationship with your friend, no matter how far away he lives. Until you have done this, anyone else will be second best.

You can date them both and not say anything to either of them. See which one you like better!! Then you won't have to break your friends heart and you get to date both to see who you like better. Keep your options open. You're not married yet. You don't have to date ONE guy exclusively. And what they don't know, won't hurt them...lol Have fun and good luck!
