I had a 1GB SD card for my MP3 player and my MP3 player broke, but all of my songs are still on the SD card. I want to give this card to my sister who will use it in her camera. How can I clear all of the data (songs) off of the card so that it can be used in a camera to hold photos?

I cant just stick my SD card into the USB. I can get an external device that I can plug into the USB and then plug my SD card into that. Is that my only option?

Have your sister format the card in her camera(assuming her camera uses sd cards) That will erase the card and ready it for use in her camera. Her camera's manual should tell her how to do this.

firstly you must make sure that your card is compatible with your sister's camera. if it is you can use the USB interface for her camera to format the card via any computer. The only other alternative is to buy a card reader and use that

If your computer has a slot for memory cards then insert it and format the card. Formatting a memory card removes everything from it basically put it back to the state when you purchased it

All your sister has to do is insert the card into her camera and use the format utility from the camera menu.

cpt etc is right. This is better than trying to do it on the computer anyway.
