Take a fecal sample to the Vet

Have the vet check the stool sample 2 weeks after the last deworming. They are looking for evidence of eggs from the worms. Usually 2 doses of dewormer are administered about 2 weeks apart to eliminate roundworms. Keep the dog on a good heartworm preventative which will control the parasites monthly as well. Roundworms are rarely found in adult dogs stool.

You need to take your dog to the vet to have a fecal sample taken and tested. My vet says that is the only way to tell.
