I am running OS 10.4.7 and was trying to move the desktop file to another one of my hard drives instead of my main. I thought I did it, and emptied the trash of my desktop. I still have the things that were saved on my desktop, but now I can't add any folders or files to my desktop. Can any one help me fix my mess???

Try creating a folder in your home folder (where your Desktop folder used to be, along with Music, Movies, etc.) and nameing it "Desktop". If you miss your icon, just create a new account and copy the icon from there and put it on your new folder.

Also, Mac users forget sometimes that a restart may help. To PC users, its a common occurance, but to Mac users, its a rareity.

system restore..

go to start menu

select all programs......accessories.........system tools..

then System Restore..

System Restore is reversable too

you will pick a date and your computer will be restored to the condition it was then. You won't loose new downloads or work..

but it will fix your problem..
