I think circumcision is a good idea I have 3 boys and all of them are circumcised. It is so much easier for them to keep clean and prevent urinary tract infections. My nephew was not circumcised at birth and he ended up at the age of 4 having medical issues that required him to have it done. He had to be put to sleep for it and it became a surgery instead of a procedure. He was very uncomfortable for about a week. when they are babies it is so much easier on them and you. you made the right choice. I'm sure he will not hate you for it my son's are 12, 11 and 3 and have never even talked about it. I believe there are more men that are circumcised then are not. and I'm sorry a penis is ugly enough but it's worse when they are not circumcised.

Why did the United States persist in circumcising males long after the fear of masturbatory insanity declined? The only other country in the world today that reports nearly as high a frequency is Australia, and even there the custom is on the way out. In England, circumcision is virtually extinct. In 1972, according to the Hospital Inpatient Inquiry for England and Wales, less than 1 percent of 400,000 boys under one year old had the operation (0.41 percent). The Scandinavian countries never accepted circumcision, and most of Europe has discontinued it. It survives where it has a religious or cultural tradition: Israel, Arab nations, some tribes in sub-Saharan Africa.
All of my aussie friends have not been circumcised and think of it as a jewish and us kind of thing. So yeah in the us its probably a good idea that you circumcised your kid, but hot been circumcised does not some how mean that your dirty, many scinetists claim that their is a reason for the foresking still been present despite thousands of years of evolution. All you need to do is practice basic hygine
I found some stats
here are around 950 million Muslims, 14 million Jews and 48 million Coptic Christians ... about 1 billion, 19% of the world's population, whose males are all circumcised. And its fairly hard to find a doctor and a hospital prepared to do so

The majority of the males in the world are NOT circumcised; it is not neccessary. The idea that most men who were not circumcised as babies get circumcised when they are older is assinine- show me some kind of study to back up that statement. When there is a medical reason to circumcise then there is no need to feel bad for having it done.

Circumcision is not recommended anymore like it used to be. It is now usually only done for religious purposes.
There isn't anything wrong with a male having foreskin and there is nothing unclean about it.
Actually, science has proven that smegma (the white stuff that accumulates within the foreskin that has a distinctive odor), contains antibacterial properties that keep the penis healthy and free from harmful bacteria.
Most men resent their parents circumcising them and try to grow their foreskin back by using weights to stretch the skin and so forth.

I was Circumcised, had it done to both of my sons when they were babies. Glad I did. Although my only reasoning at the time had to do with cleanliness, new studies show that the African males in the countries where it's routinely performed have a lesser risk of contracting AIDS. Like 40% less! :-)=

Don't feel down on yourself for having to do this. I don't think he will be down on you for this. Some people consider this mutilation and some do not. There are a lot of myths out there concerning circumcision, for instance, it does not make it cleaner. Anyway...nuff said. If you had to have it done that should be (besides religious reasons) the only reason to do it.

Circumcision is very common for most people because it is easier to keep clean. I had it done and I wouldn't know how it was without circumcision.

I reported that second answerer...lespaul. That was just unnecessary and unreasonable. I think most males are circumsised today. I don't think he would hate you for it. Why would he? Most males get circumised at some point in their lives. I assume your son is a baby???? If so, he won't even remember having it done.

If you have ever been with a guy that is not circumsized then you would definitely have it done to your sons. YUCK!
Do not worry...he will grow into it and be fine. He won't remember it at all even if he did not get a local.
