Its a fairly new couch, but the fabric is so scratchy. We don't want to spend more than necessary, I was just wondering if its worth it to have it done in a less scratchy fabric.

I checked into getting mine done and I have a very large camel back sofa and it would have ran me about 350.00 with fabric. The fabric was 10.00 a yard and the person that was going to do it was charging me 5.00 a yard for bringing my own fabric. So it is cheaper to have it done than to buy a new sofa. Just research the place before you let them cut into you couch lol.

Getting A Couch Reupholstered

I have to agree with Dorothy, to have a professional reupholster your sofa, with a good quality fabric, and restoring it to the original condition, will cost you more than a new one. This is especially true if your couch was a very high quality one. There is much more to reupholstering a high quality couch then just sewing a new cover.

Actually believe it or not, it costs almost as much as a new couch.
