For starters, you fly a plane not drive.
Now if you are asking which do I feel is more of a threat to America as a whole, illegal Mexican migration or extremists learning to fly planes for the sole purpose of terrorism, I would say I fear the extremists more.
Mexicans who cross our borders illegally, although wrong in practice, are only looking for a better life for themselves. They do not want to hurt anyone. They just don't like how they are treated in their own country.
It is unfair to call followers of the Muslim faith terrorists or suicide extremists because it is a peaceful religion. It is only those choice few that make it look bad to the rest of the world.
It is my opinion within the next five years World War III will erupt and unfortunately The United States will be in the middle of it.
For those who feel that it's all "Bush's" fault, I'm sorry to say this Mid-East problem has been simmering for 50 years and it is now just coming to a boil.
Sorry for ramblin' - I agree with you, I fear the terrorists.

Let us begin with a silent prayer for enlightenment and a Bible quote:
“You shall not molest or oppress an alien, for you were once aliens yourselves in the land of Egypt.”
Now let us understand, Patricia, that terrorism and illegal immigration are two seperate issues. We need to stop confusing the two.
First, no terrorist sophisticated enough to do us any real harm will cross the most polluted river in North America. He will stand out like a sore thumb. Terrorists are more likely to cross the Canadian border where a large Muslim community already exists and they will be less noticiable. Also, recall that the 9-11 pilots entered this country with passports and visas largely with our own government's knowledge, help and blessing. They never crossed that river known as: "The Rio Grande."
Second, recall that this is a nation of immigrants. How did the original immigrants get here from Europe? How did they 'acquire' this land for their very own if not by use of steel and gunpowder, forcing the Native Americans into death marchs, herding them into reservations and breaking every treaty ever made with them.
The real problem is that some White, middle-class Protestant Americans have come to fear becoming a minority and so, all of a sudden, illegal immigration becomes a BIG issue. It has been going on forever. People cross the border, make a few dollars and go back.
Statistically Americans are more prone to abuse the welfare system than illegals. And why blame illegals because our own government is generous with the benefits? That is easy enough to fix, but don't cry if social aid changes for everyone, not just the illegals.
If you have bothered to read this far down, then let me leave you with this thought:
Most Americans are really very generous and decent people They take in children from third world countries like the new born little boy mauled by dogs in Africa. A few, like Alberto, give the rest a really bad image.
H
To DAR: The only reason immigration is now a legal issue is because the original European immigrants sat back all high and mighty after 'just taking this land for their own' and wrote their law. Exodus 22; 20 is still something you should think about before condemning those less fortunate. Here is another one: "To whom much is given much is expected..."

Considering that with the lack of border security as it is - to suggest that illegals can come in from that country to do similar as what was done on 9/11 is short sighted.
It matters not about the supposed "low paying jobs" as you suggest that the Mexican border problem. It is the real problem of people illegally coming into the United States that are a drain on the system and a burden to the American taxpayer. Many will say that 'they pay taxes' to which I reply, 'Compared how much is being put in to what they are sucking out of the system" to those that want to hide their heads and ignore the reality of the problems that arise from any person that comes here illegally and expects services that are to be for citizens (till those that support big business got into office anyway).
For those that come her legally, they have to show that they have a job and will not be a burden - meaning that they will not be getting Welfare or on government programs. Such is the standard. Problems seem to come up with understanding just what "illegal" means for people. Sad that some would like to think that such applies to all but them or those that they want it to apply to.
Considering the standards for Mexico and their own laws on those that would attempt to do such in that country - I say have and enforce the same laws within the United States. I would LOVE to see put into effect the same program from the 50's that Eisenhower put into effect that ended the influx of illegals during that time period.

This work out well for both of us then. You worry about suicide Muslims coming to the country to learn how to drive a plane in Florida and I'll worry about the mass of illegals crossing the border, draining our health, educational and welfare systems, dealing drugs, creating slums and spreading diseases. The worst enemy are all ready here and more are ILLEGALLY crossing our borders everyday

It's been 5 years ago since I heard about terrorist learning to fly planes in Florida at training schools on suicide missions. Everyday I hear someone bring up illegal immigration. I'm more concerned with terrorist illegally immigrating into the US to attack us, than illegal Mexicans taking low paying jobs.

I'm more worried about the degraded schools my children attend due to mass enrollment of children of illegal immigrants who we have to subsidize, and who drain the funding not only by their sheer numbers, but disproportionately to pay for ESL programs. Meanwhile the massive ESL programs slow study for the other students, making a bad situation worse. While we would need some of that for our legitimate immigrants, we would have MUCH better schools for our children without the illegals.
That is a certainty in our family's life.
Getting hit by a plane flown by a wacko is statistically unlikely.
H, I have heard no suggestion that those aliens were illegally present.

OK this is sad just thinking that you people believe that they should not be hear lets not talk about murder, rapes etc because if you look up how many Americans have gone to Mexico and other countries to rape, kill and prostitute children and women. and deal drugs in those countries. think about that trust me u will not go into a field from 5 am till 6 pm just for 200 dollars a week.
I'm American born in this country and its sad to see sow much hate. and if you remember history class the only real legal Americans are the Indians that sadly were killed. it make me think that you pretend that that part of "American history" like if never happen. sorry but illegal imigrants deserve a chance. im more scared of terrorist, and more scared that the illigal imigrants would stop coming because trust me i would not want to do the jobs they do and trust me u donot whant them ether.

I'm concerned about Muslims, Mexicans are welcome we need hard workers...actually my College campus is undergoing a ton of renovations and mainly the workers are Mexican...lol...but yeah I don't think Muslims should be let into this country without vigorous background checks and serious observations. It's not that I don't like Muslims, it's just you can't be too sure you know with everything that's happen. Now if more Non-Muslims became terrorists then maybe the discrimination against them would diminish

I am more worried about people that break our laws because they don't like how they are - and they aren't even citizens of this country!
Both things concern me, but it is all about legality for me. I don't care where someone is from, just so long as they are in this country legally. I think we will stop more of the criminal element (i.e. terrorists) from entering this country if we CONTROL THE BORDERS. Allowing anyone to come into this country without saying "boo" to them will assure that more of the events like 9/11 happen. . .

I think that the work Illegal really means "against the law".
People who break the law should not be rewarded, no mater who wants their votes.
We were happy to have mexicans come in during the second world war, but then we sent them home after.
I think the borders need to be secured. Build the fence! Build a moat. The sooner the better. Then, deal with the people that are here.
We need to control the entry of all people who enter.
