Does anyone know when the Airbus A380 (the new airplane with two full decks, store and lounge) willbegin to fly in the U.S?

What luxuries will the airlines put into it?

Latest info is Airbus' shareholder BAE as well as ILFC (the airplane leasing company) chief warned they are expecting further delays to come, this would be the 3rd or 4th delay.

IF this happens, the latest date of service into the US could be pushed to 2008. QANTAS was going to fly the aircraft with first on delivery in the 3rd or 4th quarter of 2007 after the new delay was announced in June 2006.

QANTAS plans to configure the A380 with 501-seat, 3 class service, so at least it should be roomier for now, since standard 3-class configuration provided by Airbus, is 555-seat.

A report from Forbes now says Singapore Airlines' first flight may be April 2007, instead of before Xmas. Air France, supposed to get A380 in 2008, now likely to be 2009.

however, Airbus insist no new delays

The first flight of the A380 to the US will probably be operated by Qantas next year and will be to San Francisco or Los Angeles.

Airlines probably won't put any luxuries in that are any different to on any other planes. They'll just use the extra space for more seats unfortuantely.

Airbus, already well established in the freighter market with the 54t-capacity A300-600F and the 39t-capacity A310F, has now moved to the upper end of the cargo market with the launch of the A380-800F freighter.Airbus, already well established in the freighter market with the 54t-capacity A300-600F and the 39t-capacity A310F, has now moved to the upper end of the cargo market with the launch of the A380-800F freighter.
