It's a Casio QV R40. Started first with only outdoor pics, now indoor pics also. Does this mean camera is damaged or broken?

If you have play around with any settings recently,
you can go to option/setup to reset to factory settings.

If really don't work, bring back to casio for servicing.

It could be indicative of a problem with the shutter as indicated previously, but before assuming the worst check to make sure that the "White Balance" has not been inadvertently changed.

It all has to do with your camera's shutter speed. The slower the shutter speed, the more light is allowed to enter the camera, and therefore, the picture appears washed out. Simply speed up the shutter speed and this problem will disappear.
