Yeah, people care. Our country is not open minded and we really don't care about the plight of the world around us, that is going to be our biggest downfall. It's hard to be on this sight and keep goodness in your heart, I bet half of the racists who claim to be "good Americans" also consider themselves good Christians. It's sad.

People from canada have to go through immigration just like people from mexico - exact same deal.
And there are limits of how many immigrants from which countries. It's just that there are many more mexicans coming to the US than Canadians. So the Canadians probably aren't filling out the max they are allowed while the Mexicans are easilly doing so.
Most people who came to the US did so legally - NOT illegally.
Even the early settlers came here legally, as the indians had no law against it.
Once the indians were pushed aside and the US controlled the land, laws were put in place limitting how many people can come across the border and for how long or under what conditions. After that point there were now illegal immigrants.

The difference ids the Canadians do it the legal way they can't come here illegally and just get citizenship any more than Mexicans can. Illegal is illegal whether you come from Mexico Canada, China or Europe. Without a Visa you are illegal and you know it. And Mexicans do the work Americans used to do all the time but they won't do them for minimum wage and illegals who do only depress the wages for everyone else. When or if they give amnesty to the ones who are here illegally they will find out first hand because the next wave of illegals will take the job you are doing for $7.00 an hour and will do it for $5.00 an hour then you will see why we complain.

First off, no they do not help us that much. They are helping themselves. Why is it work that Americans won't do? Because too many people feel as though they are entitled to something "just because." Look at all the posts referencing the redistribution of wealth. How many Mexicans come here for work and how many come here and break the law. I think the numbers would boggle your mind. Do some research on this, there are many government agencies and many non-government groups that track the numbers. You have a computer do some digging.
I don't understand what your color or race has to do with this. So since you have black and white relatives that makes you a true American and the rest of us below you? Choose your words better. As Hillary Clinton said they do the work nobody else wants to like clean up after her, wash her clothes, and clean her house. I don't have a Mexican doing my work.
As far as what makes me believe I have a right here. I bled for this country, I have a right here. My father and his father before him did the same. My family came here legally, they went through Ellis Island and earned the right. Crossing the boarder and sneaking past and sometimes shooting officers doesn't give you a right. This also goes far back to when the Spaniards killed the Aztecs and took Mexico, hence the Spanish language. Since they killed Indians first does that mean they deserve it more?
As far as Canadians go, you don't see them dragging their children through the frozen lakes to get here. You don't see them running across the boarder smuggling drugs. You don't see the Canadians claiming the land as theirs. You don't see the Canadians forcing their views on us like the Mexicans are pushing their educational standards on local public schools. You don't see Canadian gangs coming into our cities killing people. Need I go on?

No, none of my ancestor came here illegally, they broke no laws coming to this country, be it 1600's from England or 1840 from Ireland all came into this country legally, they did not stow away on the ships that brought them here, they booked passage. Blacks were brought here against their will but legally until they banned slavery. Why do some people think they have right to be here? Well some of our roots run deep, our ancestors fought at Valley Forge and won our independence from England, they farmed and cleared and raised families in the harshest conditions and every generation has given so that the next will have it better, why should Mexicans be entitled to the freedom and prosperity that Americans have been fighting and working for for over 200 years, do they not have a country of their own? If they want what we have let them fight a war of rebellion and secure their freedom from a corrupt government. Mexicans need to change their own country not invade ours.

1. Canadians are treated differently because they are not ILLEGALLY flooding into this country and then claiming "foul" when the US wants to enforce their LAWS.
2. Your illegal Mexican friends made their own bed. They are getting the "rage" of Americans due to the ones that choose to come here illegally and rob us economically, socially and financially. And you wonder why they are not welcomed with open arms? Does taxes mean anything to you??
3. We all did not come here illegally. A majority of our families came over to this country long before immigration law. So how can one violate a law that wasn't? It's hard to break a law when it is not there to break, right?
My family is a mix of English, Irish, German, and my grandfather (god bless him) was 100 % Native American. So you know something? I have a pretty good right to be here. . .
They do not "help". They hurt. How? They use government programs (welfare, social security, medicaid, etc) without paying taxes for them. They use our school systems again without paying taxes for them. They undercut pay rates in some areas of the country because they are willing to work for less than minimum wage (which no one can live on the way it is). They use our hospitals and then can't afford to pay for the care. Do you think that just goes away? Nope. We pay for it on our next visit.
Help? Yeah - they're helping me pay higher for everything. Really fair. Why don't I love illegal immigrants???

OK, lets remain in the present for now.....
by today's law and the cultural arrangement between the US and Canada, we can each cross the border regularly and easily. The difference is, Canadians do not generally cross the border in order to work at low paying jobs for a season, or sneak in in order to stay in the land of plenty (we have plenty of our own thanks and a great standard of living to boot).
Illegal immigration is a problem, no matter how you look at it. Mexicans (and others) get into the states to work at low paying jobs and also in alot of cases hopefully to stay because they feel they have a better chance at making a decent living for themselves and their families. It has to be regulated in some way - it's not an option for any administrative government - and it's not simple.
As far as the past is concerned, you are right, we all have an ambiguous claim to this continent - but we live in the here and now - and we are governed by those we put in power.

keeping mexicans illegal makes them weaker, more vulnerable, more easily manipulated for the owners of america, the superrich
there is a human failing to look up to the rich and down on the poor - whereas the truth is that the poor are the robbed and the rich are the robbers
you are quite right - humanity has not yet learned to make the rich poorer and the poor richer, ie, to head towards justice, which is the source of peace, happiness, freedom, democracy, everything good
people allow unlimited wealth which is unlimited power, which is always used to oppress [steal from] others - people allow the rich to foment wars and send the people off to fight and die in them - people allow the rich every freedom to be above the law, run the country into ruins - the people always have done so
every empire has fallen from becoming excessively overrich and overpoor, which is theft, which is cause of violence, which bankrupts the state
now we have the bombs capable of destroying all life - and the people are still allowing the superrich every freedom to destroy the world, to rob the world, and thus to increase anger and violence and danger and expense
1% get 90% of world income and do less than 1% of the work - and the people do nothing - like the peasants in the film the three amigos, who allow the bandits to regularly steal and rob and get richer and more powerful and tyrannical
the rich have always flooded the work market with labour to get cheap ie slave labour - in the 19th C they closed the commons, ran off tenants, built deer parks, so tha tthe industrial revolution would have cheap labour - they didnt stop short of having 12 year old nearnaked girls pulling coaltrucks through freezing dripping corridors underground
the people love to be persecuted, beaten up, used, abused, raped, exploited, worked to death, frightened to death, killed, used as cannonfodder
proof: how obvious was it that wealth is power - how obvious was it that superwealth was superpower, that superpower was undemocratic, tyranny? - and yet the american people for 200 years ignored the wisdom of the founding fathers and let wealth concentrate, let the whip that would beat them grow freely in america - and so it has been in every age: let plutocracies arise and abuse the people

There are no jobs Americans won't do, Peaches. And YOU tell ME, why should someone from another country go through the proper legal channels and wait years, while for others it is just a hop, skip, and a jump into my backyard in Houston? Hmmm?
I have ancestors from Mexico but they got here legally, just like everyone else should. Do you bleeding hearts know how to balance a checkbook? Do you realize Harris County Hospital District (Houston metro area) spent $92 million, yes I said million, dollars to give FREE medical care to illegals last year? Guess what happens if I need free medical care? Ooops, sorry, out of funds, NEXT!
Wake up and look at the numbers, folks. We cannot afford to feed, house, and clothe the whole freakin' world for free...why? Because nothing is free, that's why. You pay, I pay, our children and grandchildren pay.

Sad but true. Mexicans get a very different race card don't they. I belive that part of it is that Canadians have the same physical looks as many Americans. Mexicans are set apart by their skin color and their language as well. Plus Canada is a very beautiful place where there is so much good. The people like it there, and most of them aren't trying to move to the US. However we get so many immigrants from Mexico and more people wanting to come. It makes it look as if people in Mexico don't liie their own country so why would Americans. I hope this helps. Not my opinion, but a general view.

There are still restrictions but a big part of it is that so many Mexicans here are bringing in family as fast as they are allowed, that they already have the biggest number of visas being awarded, as I understand it.
