All the religious fanatics that post at Yahoo Answers are horrible spellers. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed this? It's like, in order to be the biggest fan of your own personal iconoclast supreme you have to give up the ability to spell or use that tiny little 'spell check' button.

It just goes to show that "private" religious schools consider teaching religion more importantly than spelling. So in other words, you spend all that money so that your kid can get educated just feeding into a bunch of religious nonsense while your kids are missing out on a proper education.

"Iconoclast" originally referred to a person who destroyed icons, that is, sacred paintings or sculpture. An example is Byzantine emperor Leo III, who ordered the destruction of all icons of Jesus, the Virgin Mary, and the Saints in his empire. For more discussion of historical iconoclasts, see iconoclasm.

The more common meaning in current usage is that an iconoclast is a person who attacks cherished beliefs, traditional institutions, etc., as being based on error or superstition.[1]

Modern iconoclasts may carry out symbolic or quixotic acts of protest against authority figures, the connotation being that the iconoclast opposes the imposition of authority itself rather than any particular policy or action.

Perusing "the (comic) book" takes an AWFUL lot of time away from worthwhile pursuits. If a person is brought up from childhood being told every minute that "god" is a megalomaniac who craves worship and must be studied or you will rot in "hell", then I trust that most of the blind and emotionally susceptible WILL spend valuable time wasted in such a moot study. A body can't improve oneself while otherwise occupied with drivel. Quite a shame, that.

No flattery this time, I don't want to tip the scales. Oh heck, why not... I really liked question. Gave me a chance to engage a minute diatribe. Thanks!

It doesn't matter if you are a religious fanatic, a politician, a rock star or a homeless bum on the street , there is no excuse why you can't spell words correctly. It shows a lack of intelligence or a lack of caring. The two go hand-in-hand. Let's all misspell words and go shopping at Wal-Mart !

I have noticed that. It seems to be the worse in the Religion and Spirituality forum. It seems they can't get their insults down fast enough and forget to check the spelling. Either that, or they think that it's cool not to use proper grammar and spelling.

The smartest woman I know is gay, an atheist, speaks several languages, and is a horrible speller in all of them. I don't look at spelling. I address concepts. That should be plenty.

And it seems you are a big fan of using large words which mean nothing reasonable.
Would an "iconoclast supreme" be a person who is omnipotently opposed to images?
