no when they sweat, it typically means the fever breaking but not gone. they still should be watched in case the fever does spike again. typically sweating (not due to physical activity) is a pretty good sign that they're getting better.

When you have a fever and break into a sweat it means the fever is breaking. How far down your temperature goes and how long it stays down is another story. Be careful the fever doesn't get too high and if the child is under 16 don't give aspirin.

sweating is a way the body uses to cool down but it doesn't mean the fever is gone. A thermometer can tell you whether your child has a fever. Any fever over 101% should be treated.

Tylenol and Motrin will cause a child to sweat. The fever is usually gone at that point, but may return until the illness is gone. Give plenty of fluids and as always, check with your pediatrician.

We call it; "Breaking a Fever". Usually it will go away soon during that time. It may not be 100% but, it seems to be a good sign.

it's the breaking point...I wouldn't say it's gone, but it's the process through which the viruses (and fever) leave the body

yes! I you have a fever and then you finally sweat then you broke your fever! yes it is true.
