Usually within the processing stage. It is a "I made it. Love you. Bye." Don't think it is a nice long conversation. I'm here, love you , bye. Anything longer and he is going to get his rear end chewed in half! I love recruiters...he made you think it was an actual phone call...how funny.No I'm sorry it's not funny.

I was never allowed a phone call when I went. If it's to say "Hey i'm here!" Then I would say about 48 hours into it.

like all the above replies BUT make sure you have pen and paper to hand as this might be the time that they can give you HIS address so you can start those letter flowing to him.............
My son [air force] called and only had a very short time and I did not have a bit of paper to hand and he was getting really shouted at in the back ground, was all but about to write the address on the damm wall by this point............so don't be like me and have paper and pen to hand, give him a hug from my family and tell him thanks alot
