takes the pups away from her and dont let her have them back, most likely she is eating them. Take her and get her spade. You will have to feed the puppies with a bottle, get some mothers milk powder at petco. Good luck

Please have your dog spayed .It is terribly irresponsible to let your dog have puppies when there are so many being put to death in shelters. Also it is not normal for her to kill and eat her puppies unless she is starving, extremely stressed,or the puppies are sick. And ,it's cruel to keep a dog tied to a doghouse all the time .Why do you even have a dog?If it just sits in the backyard tied up all the time, what kind of a life is that? Dobes are very intelligent and sensitive dogs and also need a lot of exercise. You would be doing her a kindness to find her a home where she can live indoors and get the attention she obviously craves. Also,if you live where the winters get cold, that ,too is cruel, as a Doberman does not have the coat to keep warm enough and will suffer from it.Please,be a responsible pet owner.

Not much will happen as long as they don't make a habit of it. They might have a little upset tummy or loose stools from changing foods, but that's probably all. It's not a good idea to let them eat each other's food on a regular basis, though. Puppy food is formulated to have a lot of calories that will only put unnecessary weight on an adult dog, while adult dog food may not have all the nutrients that a growing puppy needs. I *do* like the answer above about the young dog wanting to wear make-up and stay out late, though. Good one! :-)

Lots of other information is almost correct dog are individuals and do have different behaviour pattern. This should not happen after few hours.
Put a muzzle on her face.
At birth when the puppies are out, mother get hunger prangs and eats every thing within sight. You can give her raw meat soon after delivery.
In nature the dogs and other animal will eat their sick and dead young ones to keep the predator from picking up the smell and attacking other live young ones.
Make sure puppies are taken to her for nursing under supervision only and taken away, give her lot of food and water put her in a room/dog Pan and lock the room. Take her for walk under supervision or let her run under supervision. Tying up may trigger this.

The fact that she is tied up could have something to do with it. She's stressed out enough being a new mom but then you add the extra stress of tying her up? She has no where to get away from the pups if she wants to. That's not fair to her.
Also, you need to get her fixed ASAP. Like as soon as the pups are done nursing! She obviously has a problem in breeding so please don't do it again.
Lastly, you need to take the remaining pups away from her and hand raise them. They sell KMR milk replacement for puppies at WalMart, your vet, or any pet store. They also sell bottles for them. The pups need to be fed every 2 hours, day and night. After they eat you will need to wet a cotton ball with luke warm water and stimulate their genitals to produce urine and a bowel movement. They cannot go to the bathroom with out having this done, and if you don't do it they will die.
Please take the momma dog and the pups to the vet tomorrow to be sure that there is not something more serious going on.

My relatives had a doberman who used to do exactly the same thing...however once the puppies were 2-2.5 weeks old...they were out of the danger zone...within this period...i believe you should supervise your dog whenever she is near her litter...keep the pups in a crate...take their mom to them frequently for feeding and grooming them...also please be sure to consult a vet...
The problem does not mean your dog is abnormal...the dog which my relatives had...had many healthy litters once taken care of...so it's not that your dog should not have any more puppies...but you must consult a vet or a animal behaviour specialist...

Why do you tie her up first of all?
Second, dogs USUALLY eat the pups if the pups are sick, but it sounds like she might be sick herself. Are you feeding her puppy food? Because I have heard that pregnant and new moms need to eat that for the higher nutrition.
Get the pups out and bottle feed them and have her checked out by a vet.

I had the same thing happen and i found out that the mother does it because she knows the puppy is sick and she does not want it to make the rest of them sick. if she does not eat it right away sometimes she will keep it pushed back away from the rest of them.

My dog killed one of her pups too, so what we did was bring her inside and buy a gate. Put the pups near to feed and keep doing that until she get comfortable. Always keep on eye on her eventually she will realize what she is doing. She might want to get up and leave her pups but thats why you make the gate smaller so she doesnt have a a lot of space to leave.
