Does anyone have similar take on this. If this someones answer to this question, does it have any significant phycological value.
Is the glass half empy or half full.
Well its all on how you got there, If you were filling the glass and stopped halfway it would be half full.
If you were empying a full glass and stopped halfway it would be half empty.
Could this determine that you were neither optimistic or pessimistic?

Well, when U look at it that way, no... it would not help in determining if U are optimistic or pessimistic. This is one of the problems with "Standardized" questions.
I think it just says U are a creative person!!

I've always tried to think of it as the glass was way too big. If I had a smaller glass, it would be pretty full... possibly even overflowing.

Interesting, it is, reading the answers.
Perhaps what is more revealing is not how we feel about the glass of water, but how we feel about the question.
