i have a pair of 1000watts rms woofers,,, equaling at 2000watts rms. my amp is ganna run 1 ohm 2000watts rms.

i bought a 4AWG kicker amp wiring kit before i knew anything about sound systems. the wiring kit says up to 1000watts rms/2000watts peak.

would the amp still be able to produce its 2000watts rms???
would the amps wiring melt or can anything hazardous happen??

and yes this amp can push its wattage.
and yes it is stable at 1 ohm.
i all about that. im just curious if 4AWG is ok or should i go with 2AWG

YES AND NO, heres why, if you have that amp and a stock alternator YES. Why?? because that amp draws 200 amperes at peak draw and your stock alt. only puts out 120 amps max for most cars and thats when the cars runnin at like 7000 rpms. BUT if your running a high output alt. NO because if your alternator puts out lets say over 175 amperes to be safe, your amps going to be able to operate in its upper range and its going to need that extra wire to pull the power through without burning the wire up. I would go with the 2 if not the 0 gauge anyway because if you decide to get a bigger alternator later then your going to have to buy new wire and then take the old out and re run the new wire your gonna need a bigger alt eventualy though cause amps like that will run a stock one in the ground in a year or 2 if you push them hard, its hard on your battery too so i would go ahead and take that back and get the 2 or 0 gauge so when you get to that later its already out of the way

the amp would still be able to go to 2000 but would fry the cable. plus the fact that ur peak is prob about 3000 or higher. dont even try the 2 guage because that is only rated to 1750 watts. 0 guage is your best bet because it goes up til 2500 watts. but becareful with the peak of the amp. you may even fry the 0 guage. try tuning the amp down. you can always underpower a sub but never overpower. if you fry the cable you can fry your electricals

Your Amp will still push 2kw Rms unfortunately ur wiring is way to close to its capacity. Going with a 2 or a 0 AWG is the safest choice.

If your amp is stable at 1ohm and its actually going to run that kind of power (which most do not run what they list) then I would probably use 2 or 0 gauge to be safe. What will the amp accept? Thats what would use.

its not just power its also how far the wire has to go. see answer in your other question were you asked the same thing.
