No, it is a narcotic analgesic. It has seditive effect on some people but is mainly perscribed to relieve pain. Barbituates do not relieve pain, only alter the brain's conciousness. They are used inb hospitals to induce coma and as heavy sleeping med, and even then rately.

No. Codeine is a narcotic. It is not chemically related to barbiturates.

Its an opiate and will show up in a urine test if used within about 36hrs before the test.
