The salt, probable no longer, as that's a mineral composed of NA sodium and CL cloride. Salt can corrode a steel lid on the appropriate and that would fall apart into the shaker. that's superb to apply corked ceramic or glass shakers in humids climes. Pepper on the different hand if dry is positive for some months. because it an prolonged time the essential oils dry out and the flavour is lost. yet while it gets moist can strengthen a mildew it incredibly is poisonous. there have been memories of the insanity that could befall historic investors while their shops of pepper would get moist and moldy on long voyages.

You do need salt in your diet, BUT too much can cause high blood pressure. In most store bought things there is a certain amount of sodium in them, so you won't be dperived of it. It's actually a good thing you're doing for your body. Though, your food will be a little more tasteless. Pepper though, isn't the smae. You don't need pepper, thats just a personal choice!

Yes you do need some salt in your diet but I think you probably get enough already.
I know processed food has far to much salt in it. Look at the Nutrition labels for foods like bread, breakfast cereals, soups, prepared meals.
I don't add any extra salt to my food during cooking or when eating it.
I assume I get enough salt from food itself.
I only use pepper on scrambled eggs and sometimes on baked fish, depending on what I'm eating with it.

You are correct. There is a lot of salt naturally inherent in foods. Actually, practically no one should need a salt shaker. And if you don't like pepper, why bother. So, save your arm the exercise from shaking!

a lot of foods have salt in them. look at the labels. if you dont want to eat it, then dont. i dont like salt oil or butter and live just fine without them. you get salt from things like potato chips, french fries, ketchup, ramen noodles(a LOT of salt in the broth if you use the kind in the cups, also a lot in the regular flavoring mix), a lot of things. my boyfriend is how i figured out about the ramen noodles-astonishing amout of salt. he likes salt though so it doesnt bother him.
some salt is neccessary, but not much. it doesnt take much to be enough. and if you read the labels you will see how quickly it adds up. overall, cutting down on sodium intake is great for your body. it will reduce water-weight gain as well.
some say that pepper is good for your heart, but i wouldnt really live by it, i cant guarantee the accuracy.
but simply, if you dont like it, you dont have to add it, you will get the essentials from other sources. blessed be.

Salt is also in all kind of other foods, just check the labels . Also when you cook, there are other seasonings to spice it up a little. have you tried the fresh variety yet? Like parsley ,marjoram, garlic,. Actually if you eat too much salt that could be harmful to you.The saltier your food, the more you drink water. But to get the proper lowdown on the salt you should get with your doctor .

Too much salt can be bad for you, but if used in moderation it's okay. There is nothing wrong with putting pepper on your food. I can't imagine not having salt/pepper on some foods.

Most foods have salt in them... you probably get enough from your diet without adding any. But if you enjoy the taste, there is no need to quit using it. There are other great seasonings out there though, like Mrs. Dash.

Most processed foods, even some bottled waters have salt added.. so, doubt that your not using salt is going to vastly depleat your sodium levels to unsafe levels. The salt will often cause you to retain more water as well - so if you are interested in losing weight - you have a great plan!
