PASTA WITH VODKA

1 lb. penne or other tubular pasta
5 tbsp. unsalted butter
2/3 c. vodka, preferable Polish or Russian
1/4 tsp. hot red pepper flakes or more to taste
1 can (16 oz.) Italian plum tomatoes, drained, seeded and pureed (can use 3/4 c. crushed drained tomatoes)
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. Parmesan cheese, grated

In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the penne until al dente (tender but firm) for 8 to 10 minutes. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a large noncorroding skillet over moderate heat. Add the vodka and hot pepper and simmer for 2 minutes. Add the pureed tomatoes and cream and simmer 5 minutes longer. Season with salt.

When the pasta is al dente, drain well and pour into the skillet with the hot sauce. Reduce the heat to low, ad the cheese and mix thoroughly. Voila!

Serve with a salad and good bread (it's pretty rich and very potent). Serve 4 to 6.

grey goose is pretty smooth, but the best rated vodka right now is Hangar 1 from California. anyway, good vodka is always best from the freezer, so i agree with the pirate who previously answered. however, the vodka drink that most people like that i serve them is; 2 parts vodka, 1 part grand marnier, splash of sour mix, splash of cranberry, and fill with sprite or soda (depending on your sweet tooth).

No. Grey goose does not taste as good to me as Stolichnaya. Try it. It is an awesome vodka. Mix it with real oj, or milk with kahlua. A White Russian is 1 part vodka, 1part kahlua and whole milk to finish off the tumbler or glass. Yum.

Crushed ice filling the glass to start, a shot of GG and then add pineapple juice and a touch of soda water (to cut the sweetness of the juice, this is optional) and then float coconut milk on top. Add a small wedge of pineapple for a garnish or a small goose.

Vodka, OJ and a splash of cranberry juice, or Vodka Cran.

White Russians, (you'll need Kahlua and cream)
