Why are so many fundamentalist Christians under the silly impression that Islam has a moon deity? Remember that Islam is a religion that bans any representation of Allah. Could someone please explain where this element of islamophobia has sprouted from.
I have come to expect immature ramblings here now, so all answers are welcome.

several religions have moon symbols to represent different things.as it is the closest and brightest heavenly object in the sky out side of the sun. for some the moon is male and the sun is female others have it reversed. just depend on wither your in a matriarchal or patriarchal society.
I forget as there are no Islamic mosaics near here . is it a waxing or waning moon and which direction does it face. that will help give you some sort of clue.
Besides reading a book on Islam . find a copy of Jesus,King Arthur and the Journey of the Grail the secrets of the sun kings by Maurice Cotterell. published by bear&coisbn 159143-053-4(pbk.), It will give you different views on the whys and were fors of the sun and moon relationships of the ancients.
the same as from here the extremeists fundamentalists thatare willing to follow someones ideas into a unholy war tp prove their superiorty.

Allah was the name of the crescent moon deity, one of 360 idols worshipped in Mecca, at the Kaaba. Muhammad did away with the worship of all the deities except Allah, which started a war in Mecca for largely economic reasons. Muhammad won the war after 8 years and did not allow any more idols at the Kaaba. So Allah became the one and only God of the Muslims.

However I would like to know why, when Muslims come to the United States and learn to speak English why do they continue to call God Allah? Or is Alllah someone/something else besides God. And what is this "G-d" business? I know the Jewish people don't like to use God and instead use G-d but I didn't know that Muslims did.

islamophobia would have no basis in fact. islam today threatend to "cut the neck" of all Americans. That is not a phobia, that is war.
