Just wondering if when they say you have to have braces for 2 years, what are the chances of having them taken off early! I have been told by my orthadontist that i can have them tightened every 4 weeks.... instead of 6 -7 weeks...

i was supposed to have mine for 2 yrs. and they came off after a year and a half. The two years i think is the longest time they could be on.

Huh, yeah, I was hit in the face with a soccer ball and the front ones broke loose. He just decided to take them out 6 months early. In retrospect, I should have had him reattach them and do it full term...my teeth would look better now.

some people have temporary braces - they only use them at night, treatment should take longer than 2 yrs then. Read about teeth movement - even in yr adult years n have friends who r again doing braces at 50 yo. so ..... ??

all my friends have them (i dont need them thank god!) and it seems to me that when the dentist tells them they'll get them off soon it turns out to be another year still so but maybe gettin them tightened every four weeks will work good luck anyways!

I guess it's possible, if your teeth shift faster than average. I personally had my braces on for Longer than the estimated time. : (
Good luck! : )
