This was a nation wide recall of all spinach in retail and wholesale.
As mentioned before no amount of washing will remove ecoli from the spinach.
When a new harvest is ready we will see fresh spinach back on the shelf.
And may I say even though this is a seriously deadly disease, we consume so much food products in the US that it is amazing why we are not seeing more problems than we have.
We should consider ourselves blessed.
Have a great night
Glenn

I work at a grocery store and the deal is that there was e. coli found on bagged spinach. There have been over a hundred cases reported and the FDA has issued a warning on ALL bagged spinach. My store has pulled ALL of our fresh spinach off the shelf, so that there is no question in the safety and health of our customers. I have had people return there fresh spinach a lot this week and they have all gotten full refunds.

The FDA is saying not to eat any spinach right now, and no amount of "washing" you do is going to get rid of it. So don't eat it until the new batches of Ecoli-free spinach gets to the store.

in 20 states, there has been cases of e-coli including in Ohio and there has been 1 fatality from the outbreak. so Giant Eagle, Tops, Heinen's and i would imagine other stores pulled spinach and bags of lettuce that has spinach in it. i would imagine the weather there this summer might have caused the e-coli outbreak

Someone has packaged contaminated spinach and it has e-coli in it and people are getting sick.
What do you mean, "what's up with it"? It happens sometimes.

give up on the organic and good stuf. now the veggies have ecoli, this is crazy, we should all just eat whatever we want and be happy and healthy.

They don't want people to eat it unless they know it has been washed very well, it has been found to spread disease if not cleaned properly and has killed one person and sickened many.
