Your mom is right :D (sorry, hehe)
Stick to groups...go to the movies, the mall, out for pizza etc. with your girlfriends and meet up with your crush and his friends. Just don't lie to your 'rents about who'll be there or they might not let you go again. :D

I argued with my mom for a long time when I was a freshman in high school to date. The funny thing is that I went on my first date when I was 16! I'm glad I waited. When I went out with my friends it sucked having to be driven everywhere, especially by mom. I know this sounds really cliche, but you should enjoy being a teenager first. Boys will always be there, trust me. Why do you want to date a guy who you'll probably be interested for only 3-4 weeks? What a waste!

Your mom is right. Junior high school is much too young to be dating.
I was 16 when I started dating seriously. Before then, we'd see each other in school and that was about it. I don't regret it. I wasn't missing anything.
Teens feel pressure to date because everyone else is. They want to fit in. They want to make sure that they can even get a bf or gf so they won't feel down about themselves.
As long as you don't fall to either of the above situations, don't worry about it. Your mom isn't trying to be mean or ruin your life. She's looking to improve and enrich it. Your mom has been where you are and she already knows what's coming. Trust her on this one.
Wait a while. Prove yourself by staying on top of your grades and being in by curfew. She will know that she can trust you. Then, she might consider driving you and your male friend to a movie or school dance and picking you up when it's over.

I really do think that it is to young to date. I think that hanging out with friends in a safe location. Such as your house. Is the best idea. I was alowed to start dating when I was a sophmore or age 16. Be patient as you have a long time to date dont rush the issue and dont worry what others think

junior high isnt too young to date. a good age would probably be freshman year in high school. any earlier than that are just crushes. now if you cant drive, tell your parents to drive you to the movies and then you can walk to a restaurant nearby.preferably not mcds or anything like that lol. cheers.

You could still go out with a guy, but just don't go anywhere big with him. Just walk with him at school and talk to him on the phone and hold hands. That basically means you are dating. You don't have to go anywhere like a restraunt to be dating.

i think it is and you should start dating when you find that you are acting more mature to where u noe what is right and what is wrong...most pre-teen kids shouldn't even date because they think dating is just making out w/ a dude and all that gushy stuff when it really comes with baggages nd then sum...but you should try to compromise with your momj to where she meets the guy nd where she can check with you like every hour or two...just make your mom feel confident about letting you go out nd be responsible
