I am 33 and my husband and I are planning on trying to have a baby soon. We have been married for 8 years and the time was never right. I now feel that it is time I can't wait anymore I don't want to be to old and not be able to keep up with a baby. Is it going to be a lot harder to conceive now than it would of been in my 20s. Help I feel like I waited to long.

No, it's not too late! I had my 1st child at 35 and my 2nd at 41. Now, I didn't plan things that way (always assumed I'd have my family complete in my 20s, but that just didn't happen).

It may take a bit longer to conceive than if you were in your 20s, but then again, maybe not.

You haven't waited too long! In my opinion, you did what makes sense: you developed your marriage and enjoyed each other's company for awhile before deciding the time was right to become parents. Don't put yourself down for that!

I think it makes sense, because sometimes people in their 20s aren't as mature, patient, flexible, tolerant as they think. By your 30s, you know yourself and have the wisdom and common sense to be able to deal with all the ins and outs of parenthood.

Good luck! I am sure you'll make great parents.

Oh, honey, the timing is perfect. I am in a club for stay at home mom's and I have several friends who purposely waited until their mid to late thirties because of the same reasons. I have a particular friend who is 42 and has a 4 year old and a 1 year old. It seems that waiting until your mid thirties is starting to be the new trend these days. I am 27 and have a 2 yr. old and we are currently trying for another. Since we want 3, I'll probably be in my 30's by the time little number 3 come along :) It shouldn't be too hard to conceive, but you may want to talk to your doctor just so he/she can give you particular advice. Having a child is undescribable..I wish you luck!

That is not too old! I conceived (very easily - third try) at 33, had my first baby at 34, conceived again even more easily the second time around (first try), and had my second at 35.

I'm sure it's easier to keep up with babies and toddlers when you're in your 20s, but it's certainly doable in your 30s and beyond. Good luck!

You have not waited too long. Forget about asking on this Yahoo Answers. We usually have very good answers to questions. This question requires a medical opinion. Get on it and do it right away. I had my last child when I was 37 almost 38 years old. I did not plan any one of them. Yes, I was married when I had all of them. Still, I just let it occur. I think that you would be pleased to have expert information from a gynecologist. This person is trained to give you the best information that you need right now. Remember this, "If God be for us, who can be against us?" - Romans 8:31. Peace and God Bless.

they say that women in their 40's and higher are likely to be prone to premature delivery ,birth complications and defects in the child. But a new study has reviled that men that father a child after the age of 35 are 3 to 5 times as likely to pass on bad genes and the children are prone to autism, and learning disorders. But There also has been various cases of the mother being over the age of 50. and the mom and baby are fine, and show no complications. Also you don't want to be 60 and you re kid be 10 years old. Good luck and go for it.

You are definitely NOT too old to have a baby. My brother's family was started at 40.

Your family physician is the best source to ask as the doctor knows your current medical issues and history.

Now the question is, do you know how you make babies? LOL Good luck

Too old is completely subjective. Some young parents think 30 is ancient while other moms are still having babies in their 60's! (with a lot of help of course)

Personally for ME, I wanted to be done by 35 but that is my own personal opinion as it applies to my own life.

You are a good age to start a family long as the finances are good and you have a good plan for your up coming family. If you reach 40 [well that's a little late in life.]
