So call your mom or trusted friend and have them come over early one morning to babysit and whisk her away for a day and evening with you. Pack or arrange for a picnic lunch and go to a park. Take her to her favorite Art or History Museum or special place you two share from your dating days. Take her to dinner and a movie...a break doesn't have to be a vacation...sometimes just a day away when you know someone you trust is with your child and you don't have to worry is very special. Another great gift is a visit from a local maid service to clean your house for you. My husband got me that once when my oldest was about 6 months old and I loved watching someone else mop my floors and clean the tub!

This is beautiful. You are a great guy. I suggest you tell your wife what you have told us. since she handles the money ask her for five-hundred dollars if you happen to live near any of the cities the cruise ships leave from. contact a travel agency and take a week-end are a three day cruise. If there are grandparents tell them what you would like to do and ask them to keep the little doll. They will probably jump for joy at the opportunity to keep him. There is nothing like a cruise. Start off with the short one and she will probably include them in her annual budget "smile" If she Say's "we can't afford it" you can pay on a cruise until the time to go. Go ahead and Good luck.

your wife sounds wonderful...what a lucky man you are! If you want to send her on a ladies trip with some women from church...that would not cost too much! And you could stay home with the children...then you can go on a means trip with the church! If you are looking to do something grand...tell her we have to re-budget for something grand....put aside the money religiously...automatically out of your paycheck or absolutely on purpose...never letting up...don't tell her what the grand thing is but do tell her it is for something your working toward and want to surprise her with. Then in no time at all...it may be a few months from now or even a year...but then she will be on the same page as you to some degree anyway!

I understand you wanting to do something big for your wife, but remember that the most valuable things are free. Take the baby to grandmas, tell your wife to get her hair and nails done to get her out of the house. Make the house look really nice, cook a really nice dinner for just you and her,add candles all over the house, Run her a bath, help her with her bath, rub lotion on her,,,,,,,I think you get the idea. I promise this will be a gift she wouldn't forget.

If you have a job, just tell her that you want to put some of your money into a savings account. If she asks why, then tell her you want one for emergency money or gifts, etc. That is normal anyway. Then save up and plan a great vacation that you both would enjoy and could afford. Where would she like to go? Think about that and go from there.

Well the money issue is a problem. I would just suggest taking a day off sending your child to a relatives and just "catering" to her every need. Riun a bath for her, give her a massage, cook her dinner. And just give her a stressfree relaxing day. With some chocolates!

If it is feasable financially maybe you could borrow a little from your retirement fund. I don't know if she has to sign the loan papers on something like that or not. You could apply for a zero interest credit card in your name. It just depends on how responsible and able you are to pay the loan. Just enough for a nice vacation, don't go crazy if you have to borrow money. Pay it off and don't use it again, just get enough to do something special for her.

Tell her to take the weekend off. Keep the kid, clean the house/yard, let her take it easy. Cook and clean too. You'll be tired on Monday morning, but your wife will be thankful. :D
