No! If you do it will sizzle like bacon and that should tell you if it will mess it up or not.
Depending on the look you are going for spikes, flips, straight, flat.
Bedhead has great molding products and paul mitchell also. And anytime you want to use a flat iron, you should use a heat protector which is just a spray or lotion you can rub (small amounts) into your hair before applying heat. And also when using heating irons, just know that hair burns between 180 and 200 degrees.(depending on texture and strenght of hair)
Also before using irons, test on tissue paper, if it leaves a burn mark on the tissue paper it is too hot! Lower the temperature.

Don't use oil use a product that is designed to work with heat. They can be found at a drugstore for like 3 dollars and all brands sell them. Pantene, Aussie, Herbal Essence, etc. However I would shell out a few more bucks and get Biosilk, it is amazingg.

you will end up frying your hair really bad, use smooth polishing shine it sells at h.e.b. for 2.50-3.00. pretty much sells anywhere. It's a black jar with pink and white letters, it works wonders. If you still have frizz all you have to do is put a little lotion on your hands and run it through your top hair it controls frizz really good as well, any lotion will do. :) Keeps my hair looking very healthy and shiney

Didn't Richard Prior try that???? Ended up with his head on fire...try it at your own risk! Make sure small children and pets are already out of the house so they do not get scared when the firecrew shows up!
