Yup, its potters field.
its an island techniclly in the bronx, its reasonably large and you can see it on a map.

i don't know about all, but some are used for scientific study after a certain number of months have past that noone has claimed it. i know this because my school uses unidentified and unclaimed bodies for dissection lab.
