they're to be spiritual, carefree, whatever.
they're only the most depressing, negative eye sore. And the person wearing them (other than blacks) looks like they're saying I'm smarter, better, and don't have a touch of joy in me!

ya dreadlocks are horrible. it's just like this huge piece of tangled matted hair hanging frm the head. the little braids that black people and others wear is ok, but dreadlocks...ugh.

When I first read this, I didn't realize you were saying only blacks should wear them. Yes, i've seen some pretty bad dreadlocks, but i've also seen some that are very nice. People wear dreadlocks for the same reason anyone wears their hair the way they do. It's not because they don't have joy or because they think they're smarter or better. For some people, it's just easier to maintain, yes, they can be washed. Besides, to me if all you have to do is complain about people with dreadlocks, then I think you're the one with an abscence of joy in your life. Maybe you should try 'em... it might be enlightening!

Wow. Big statement coming from a small mind. Depressing, negative eye sore? Do you even know what they're a symbolization of? You should do some research and then open your mouth before speaking. There are different kinds of dreadlocks, different styles and different reasons for wearing them. Don't be so simple minded...

Let me see now. I try to imagine a gorgeous woman in dreadlocks. Am I correct that I would have a dreadfully hard time running my fingers through her hair? Maybe this is the reason for the name dreadlocks.
So, if I'm going to have a dreadfull time, maybe a woman is going to have a dreadfull time. Hmmm...

Especially when they are dirty and packed into a ratty crocheted braid bucket. Izzy's right. The mullet look is actually worse than a big mass of dirty dreadlocks growing out of the head of someone who really needs to practice better hygene.

Well I can't really agree on what you think they look like they're saying, but I do know that I do agree that they don't look all that cool. A lot of people think they look really good, and I think they do look kind of cool on blacks. (P.S. I'm not racist in any way whatsoever by that comment, I was just saying that I think they look good with that kind of hairstyle. The guys anyway.) And well the white guys just look like crap.

That is so not true.... I love dreadlocks on black guys... Sometimes they are just so sexy.... White people and dreadlocks though i don't know.... i just don't see it working, unless they can really pull it off.... Why do u say they are depressing? I've never heard that before.

I think they look nasty! Unless that is a part of your culture then that's perfectly okay. White people with dreads look like they are unclean and just plain badly groomed.
