Masturbation is perfectly normal and healthy. There is NOTHING wrong with it. You will NOT go to hell. Please don't let these people brainwash you. You do not hurt anybody or anything when you masturbate. Make sure you have other interests too, but sexual release is needed to keep your stress levels under control. If there is, by a remote chance, a God out there somewhere, do you really think he would care what we do in the privacy of our own homes?

I wish there was a way to help you see that there is nothing wrong with masturbation without making you confront the bigger issue of your belief Catholicism and the God of the Bible, but I see no other choice.

The God you are taught about in Catholicism is no more real than Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny or the Tooth Fairy. Catholicism teaches you that masturbatation is a "sin" in order to make you dependent on the church for confession and atonement. The key point here is the dependency, not the "sin" or the "atonement".

When you masturbate, you don't harm anyone. If there is a god, the god doesn't consider masturbation a "sin". Your body has sexual urges that are nearly as fundamental to life as your need to breathe, drink, and eat. It's not a "sin" to eat (though overeating is unhealthy), and its not a "sin" to masturbate.

The whole concept of "sin" is counterproductive. Yes there are good acts and bad acts, and some acts are so bad that they deserve the stronger term "evil". But "sin" is a useless word. Strive to live ethically. Strive to treat others as you would want to be treated. And if you can find pleasure that harms no one, you should feel free to enjoy that pleasure.

I was raised Catholic and had a lot of guilt and sin over everything I did, especially sexual things like masturbation. I finally came to know the TRUE God -- the one that has NOTHING to do with the negative images that you've been taught and that we unfortunately find in the bible (sorry if this upsets some people). There are a handful of people who have had what is called an 'enlightenment experience' (a direct experience of God) and the result is always the same: God is Unconditional Love and all of this 'sin' and 'guilt' that are associated with him is just completely untrue. When Jesus came, they unfortunately changed his message because people's own guilt and sense of unworthiness couldn't believe in a Loving God (it's why we also see a very wrathful god in the old testament). Please believe me on this one. I spent years in therapy and even more time searching for God and Unconditional Love is his ONLY nature. I had 2 direct glimpses once of what God is all about and, if you had those glimpses, you would never ever consider masturbation a sin. There is no real 'sin'. There is just love. Just see everyone -- including yourself -- as being children of god and try to withhold judging others and yourself. When I was dating and chose to make love to my girlfriends, I made sure that I wasn't selfish and I tried to consider their needs and pleasures, too (and made sure that I was responsible with protection, etc.). I am NOT saying that you should engage in premarital sex; I'm just saying that whatever you choose, choose to do it lovingly without any guilt and with total consideration of both yourself and others. Masturbation is completely fine -- don't worry about it and take away all the weird guilt associated with it. My wife and I still masturbate and we each want to be considered as sexually desirable so ... I love it when my wife tells me she masturbated to thoughts of me (and I also find it beautiful when she tells me she masturbated to thoughts of someone else -- whatever, it's ok).

You poor poor unaware child. You do know that masturbation is a phase in everybodies life. Everybody will go through this phase even girls. Its called your human. It happens it it not a sin. I think God would rather have you masturbate then to go and do something with somebody just to gratify your issue. Pray about it if you so many worries. I hope this doesnt sound mean. People shouldnt be telling you that a part of growing up is a sin.

LISTEN to ME, kid.

Masturbation is NOT a sin. READ your BIBLE - it does NOT, I repeat, NOT say it is. The ONLY thing it tells you is not to spill your "seed" on the ground. EVERY child reaches a certain age where they get these feelings. It is VERY COMMON, NATURAL and WIDELY ACCEPTED by the MAJORITY of christians as a HARMLESS activity if done in moderation. It is an unavoidable part of becoming a man, reaching puberty and developing sexual feelings to prepare you and your body for procreation.

Do not be afraid. Do not feel guilty. Do not feel it is dirty in any way. It is NOT. Most certainly, DO NOT listen to those who threaten you with hell and damnation for this. They are NOT good people. TRUST ME ON THIS.

You WILL stop. The reason you find it so hard at the moment is only because of your age and the hormones that are building themselves within you, son. Please, do not worry over this. It WILL pass. It is just your bodys way of getting things working.

If people will go to hell for masturbating, heaven will be VERY empty!

STOP worrying. ENJOY your youth....you will be a man soon enough and will look back on this part of your life with a smile, my friend.

:)

OK Kid, you need to lighten up. I'm an atheist which means I don't believe in a god. But, I have known real sensible Christians that say no. It is not a sin.
Listen, It's human nature. We all do it. Even Catholics. It is natural and healthy. There is nothing wrong with masturbation. Do not feel ashamed. It is what your body is made to do.

Hon hasnt anyone ever told you that although you are a christian, that you are not and never will be perfect???? The most christian of Christians fall short of being perfect!!! Please dont feel that you are going to hell for doing a natural thing. There is absolutely nothing wrong with you and you arent doing anything so bad to be sent to hell over. I think you are really trying to be a good Christian and I respect that. I am only telling you what my heart wants me to tell you. You are NOT going to go to hell for this!!! You are a young man with feelings and emotions, and I would bet a very good person. Dont let anyone make you believe that you arent!!!!!

hi,
i just want to say that regardless if you masturbate or not we are all sinners. Even after we accept Christ into our hearts. We aren't sinners then i guess. But we still sin. No one is perfect. Jesus was the only one who could ever keep Gods commands. That's why he died to pay the price for our sin. So that we may have eternal life. Does that mean that we purposely continue to sin? No.
If you are seriously having a problem in this area of your life pray about. In all areas we should seek his wisdom. God can help you change. it doesn't always happen over night. so be patient and know that God is with you and will help you change if you want to change. Kind of hard to change if you don't want to.

In everything we do we are to keep our eyes on him. What would God want us to do.
We sin. We ask forgiveness. We try to learn from our mistakes.

Relax God knows whats in your heart and he loves you.

God Bless you

Masturbating is good for you. It will help you from having sex before marriage (which, I assume, is what you want) It's not a sin, you are not hurting anybody so why would God not allow it? Because it feels good? God isn't about that, you are a good person, masturbating doesn't make you a bad guy.

Listen kid, everyone masturbates. Your Dad did it, your granpa did it. It goes back as far as since Man has existed.

If masturbation were a sin that would send you to hell, then no one would make it to heaven except for people who do not have sexual urges (Probably less than 1%).

Do not sweat it.
