I Just want to know who else feels the same, this is strictly out of curiosity. because in my opinion, religion is just another way to get everybody to conform to something. What is your hard proof that the bible was just not written by some bored guy who had nothing better to do? No matter the time period, people wanted to be a part of something, and maybe some guy thought to himself, “wow this would be a great way for everybody to come together and be a part of a group”, or “hey I want to start my own cult”. Take for example, the Mormon religion, why if you eat sweets or drink a beverage with caffeine, it is considered a sin? That is bullcrap! So if you drink a soda, you go to hell? How can every religion be the “right” religion? If there are so many different religions in existence how can every religion get you into heaven? I thought there was only one heaven. So how could every religion go to heaven if there is only one heaven? This frustrates me so much and I need others input.

believe what you must. find comfort wherever you can, but understand that there is little comfort to be gained from chastising/criticizing the choices that others have made. if others find comfort in religion, allow them their comfort...
personally, I agree with your assessment... it's all a buncha BS.

I am sorry you are confused about all of this. I can'tr answer the Mormon question because I am a MORON, not a MORMON. I'm not sure how different that may be in the end.
I would guess it may have something to do with the drug caffiene being in both but i don't really know. There uis a part in the bible that calls our bodies temples and we should do nothing to hurt the temple.....that may be the reason.
Everyone has their "line" that they will or will not cross. I am a practicing Christian and I read the Bible , which was not written by some bored guys. (ho hum) They know or at least have real good evidence who wrote the stuff and it was handed down for years by the Jewish faith until Christ when there were actual eye witness accounts that are recorded. They are as true or as false as you want to make them. One religion thinks one thing is important and another sect thinks something else.
I read the bible and feel it is up to churches to teach what is in them...nothing more or nothing less.
So, if your seaching...start your own cult by reading and deciding what God's words say to you. That is the key. There are true religions (according to Jesus) and there are false prophets...according to Jesus. Gee, I guess he's right!
We (Christians) believe in a personal relationship with Jesus. Me and the Mormons read different books.

Regardless of my personal beliefs, religion started out as answers to questions since the beginning of thought!
Obviously there was no language until it adapted to its environment. Most of the beliefs evolved like Norman Rockwell's word of mouth painting where it ended up totally different once it got back to the originator.
Religion was our first society that set up rules to live by to keep order in the house. Many elected a leader who would end up being either their king or god. The king made war on those that didn't follow his rules and his or appointed grand wizard type of god forgave the warriors for taking life to ensure it succeeded.
As the king became more god-like the rules became more restrictive as his power was not to be questioned. Some rules were logical such as not to eat of the hoofed animals for obvious reasons such as trichinosis during the no refrigerator periods. Purity as being godly was a method to reduce contractual diseases leading to a black plague. History simply evolved into more gods then less as the rules changed.
Is it right to say who's god is the right one when it leads to conflict?. I say belief is wonderful and a testimony to life and every religion that holds true to love and respect all fellow humans is good enough for me. Everything else is fear.

You're very insightful, and this is certainly something one could go on and on about.
A church is just a building - probably on a nice piece of land that could sport something like a park or a prison.
I have found - time and time again - some form of hypocracy in people with religious beliefs/practices. One day I looked up 'hypocrite' in the dictionary, and religion was in the definition (as well as insincerity)!
I've never believed that there is a man in the sky with a big book - inserting X's and 'gold stars'.
An artist, inventor, etc. does not creat simply to destroy... thusly then, why would one create merely to judge?

First of all the mormon religion was not made anywhere near the time of the bible being written. So who cares if you think it's bullcrap. Religion does not hurt anyone unless it's the quran in that case they tell you to kill people but thats off the point i'm trying to make. People who push on other peoples religions i don't agree with but someone who is like me and my family and is happy believing in what we believe hurts no one. I think your a very arrogant person with very little hope and faith so you take it out on something you know people will agree on you with. Who cares if you don't want to try and find jesus thats your own inner issues you have. If you so strongly believe in what you believe you don't need anyone elses "input" you just don't want to feel anything but right.

No all Religions weren't made by man. Religion is the answer to anything but I'm pretty sure you just angered some Christians, Islams, Buddhists, etc. Maybe you should think before you act.

What honest and sincere effort to investigate the basis of 'religion"? It seems that your views are tainted by the negative aspects of religion you post (nonew of which are in the least bit original)...based most likely on personal upbringing. It's hard to make judgements on a wide ranging subject like religion when the solitary tool you have is the SINGLE view of religion one develops in life...and not all religions are interested in getting you to heaven...seems rather filled with arrogant egoism to want to get to heaven...or want to avoid any hell...in either case it is an excercise in ego. I recommend Joseph Campbell for a very non sectarian set of writings on religion and myth...he can answer a great number of things....also i recommend the American philosopher bertrand russell as well

In response to your question, "How can every religion be the 'right' religion?", I think you would be surprised at how many answers you could find for yourself in the Bible even if you read it from an objective viewpoint. The Bible really speaks for itself, and its message of God's love for us never changes, even though people (some Christians included) misquote or misunderstand it. I am a Christian who believes that a personal relationship with God is what is most important, but your religion should be in accordance to all that the Bible teaches.

First off the Bible is not one book it has 66 books. Is there a possibilty that you can get 66 writers and get them to agree with one subject (ie: Jesus can save you only thru him)?I don't really think so. Its also not to religon its a relationship with Christ. And trust me a Christain shouldn't force you to be a Christain.Ther is a Heaven but there is also a Hell. Not everyone will go to Heaven.

I think all religion is Bull Poop. But at the same time I realize that answer is what fits best in MY life. I leave everyone to their own beliefs because it makes them happy, and not believing in any religion makes sense to me.
I just don't like someone justifying their bigotry and hatred with their religion. Or taking their religious propaganda as truth.

All religions are False.
Jesus is Reality. Jesus is GOD. Jesus is the Only One Who can Recreate your Spirit, which lets you go to Heaven when you die.
Jesus Created you in the First Place, religion didn't.
