Codeine is a pain reliever. It is usually very effective, tell your doctors and dentists about this so they don't prescribe it again. Codeine is found in Narcotic pain meds. So you will be fine to take tylenol or motrin.

Codeine is considered an opioid and comes from poppies. Other pain meds are very similar (morphine). Synthetic pain relievers may also cause the same problems (Hydrocodone products--Vicodin, Tylox, Percodan, Percocet).

Discuss this with a pain physician or a clinical pharmacist and see what options you have when you need pain relief. Worst case, you take Benadryl with the pain pills and the Benadryl will probably help you avoid the reaction. Get some advice from someone nearby.
Good luck

You need to tell your doctors and dentists that you are allergic to Codeine so they will not perscribe any medications with that in it or as a pain reliever. I too am allergic to Codeine!!
