Muslim clerics and other high ranking muslim religious leaders have been quoted as saying that Christianity and the western world are a bunch of infedels who will have their heads chopped off in the name of jihad and Allah. Mostly because of the silliness of being politicaly correct, the western world and Christian religious leaders have either kept their mouth shut or have insisted that radical muslim views are followed only by a certain few extremist. The fact is, when the Ayatolla of an entire country (Iran) calls for more protests and attacks against Christianity and the west enciting hatred and violence, these views are seemingly becoming more popular. All the pope did was read an excerpt from a historical document, and although it was pretty stupid of him to do so considering the overly sensitive Muslim world today, he didn't call for the killing or the persicution of any Muslims. Who should really be upset about this whole thing? Why is the Islamic world so upset?

I dunno but it sure is funny to hear 'em yell, "Apologize for calling me violent -- or I'll kill you!"

Wouldnt the Christian world be upset if the most respected Rabbi in Israel says something disrespectful about Jesus Christ? I am sure I wont see any violence, but sure there will be an outcry. The muslims hold their prophet in very high esteem. The general anger of muslims towards the west has many historical reasons. In the last three hundred years, the Christian world (and with their support, the jews) have treated muslims like dirt. It is the fastest growing religion in the world, including in the US and Europe. The americans and the west see it as the next threat to its society after communism. Also they need the oil. They have no other option but to support Israel (influence of powerful jewish lobbies), whatever it does. How many times is it reported that there was no Hisbollah before Israel invaded Lebanon? How many politicians in the west have the guts to own up that they went into Iraq not to fight the terrorists, not out of love for it's citizens, but for oil?
The day the west stops interfering in the middle east, the antipathy of the muslim world will be over.

By the way it seems odd to me that everyone is calling muslims violent. When I look into history, the hands which have led to most blood shed are christian, the nuclear bombs dropped on civilians are made by christian hands, the holocaust was christian, slavery was christian, colonialism was christian, spread of weapons and triggering of wars in the world's poor countries so that they can fill their coffers is still done by the christian world.
.
By the way, I am an infidel too, a Hindu.

(all i have said doesnt condone terrorism .Muslims have to look into themselves as much as the west should look into it's policies)

Well, yes I understand the Pope's comment and it heard even if he didn't say this comment. It seems really rude and disrespectful. My Prophet is a great person anyway how. He did good for Muslims and Non-Muslims as well. He ended the Byzantine Persecutions of Copts and Nestorians in Egypt. He ended the ever conflicts in the Middle East and bringing light to everyone in the Middle East. But, you see the question shouldn't be taken TOO serious in such a manner that we should protest or even shoot an innocent Nun. The Pope is special amongst many ways and we all understand that no one is perfect in this world that God Almighty made. The Pope do mistakes just like you and I would. I respect your question and if this offended you in anyway, I am sorry. Peace...

The "Islamic world" is out of control. Their religious mission was correctly stated by the Pope ... to use the sword to spread their religion. It was correctly described in the 14th century quote.

We should never have gone into Iraq and it could be our undoing. The people of the world need to unite against terrorist. An army can fight an army or destroy a country, but is a really great target for terrorist. All people including the good Muslims need to be organized into neighborhood watches to help locate and report terrorist. If we fail to do this, a world war with atomic weapons is our only alternative. Any country that supports terrorism is a terrorist country. It is awful that so many innocent people might have to be killed, but the good nations cannot continue to accept terrorist attacks which will definitely include atomic weapons and large loss of life in the "free world." Please, if you are from one of those Islamic or Muslim countries, help the world find and destroy any people that promote terrorism.

No offense, but the Islamic people seem to be upset with everyone, mostly The United States.
If you speak nicely about them, you are hated. If you speak badly about them, you are hated. If you bring up someone from their holy book, who has said something, and even if you quote it correctly, you are hated.
We dare not harm their holy books, yet our bibles are nothing more than false words to them..
I don't know if it's the many, or it's the few.. so please, I don't mean to judge the Islamic as a whole.. but enough is enough.. from all sides.

Muslims are members of a brainwashed and compassionless cult whose only real goal is to assimilate the world into their doctrine. Muslims do not see the irony you suggest, because they are totally unable to think rationally or think for themselves. Many Muslims have attempted to spread the lie that the so called "radical" Muslim terrorist are not true Muslims. If this is true where is the out cry in the Muslim world against them? If the Pope can make one statement and incite protest around the world, where is the protest against the terrorists who we are told "are not true Muslims?" Wouldn't some one who claims to be a Muslim yet uses the name of Allah in vain be worse and more deserving of protest than the Pope?
