I just have a quarrel with my partner... And its is money related. I just want him to voice out to his company HR to ask for a pay raise... He is the hardworking & do not mind working hard & overtime even though the company has no OT pay. I know because we are working in the same company. But I just feel it is unjust that after 2 years of working there, his pay is less then people of the same qualifications but less year of working there. Finally convince him to take up a course to upgrade himself, but he decided not to cos the company asked him to stay (But can understand because the company is not doing well, is expanding & need all the manpower). But no extra pay rise was mentioned. Any one can advise how to make him at least speak up for his own right...

You have to make him understand that the reason he works for this company or rather any company is to earn money for his own needs. Also he should understand that everyone working out there has a certain value attached to them. If he knows that he is valuable to his firm, then he should demand appropriate compensation. There is nothing wrong in it. Afterall even the company owners and managers run the company simple becoz they can profit from it and not for social service. So, your partner asking for his fair share is nothing personal just business. Tell him to understand that if other people are willing to recognise his work and pay him more then so should his own company.

You cant force him. He has to want it. Apparently he doesnt want it very badly because he continues to allow himself to be pushed around and bullied. He is probably afraid of getting fired if he asks for one. If he is fired over asking for a raise you should contact your local labor board and let them know about it.
You could also ask his boss for him since he doesnt have the balls to do it himself.
Just my 2 cents.
