Yes my grandson hung himself but everyone was clueless why. I guess we will never know why.

I'm so sorry for your loss. In my life I've known three people who have committed suicide. It's a terribly sad and horrible thing to deal with. We now know that there is a chemical imbalance in the brain of suicidal patients that can be helped through medication. It's just the time it takes to figure out the right dosage and type takes so long it can be very frustrating. Some people can't wait... the depression eats away at them like cancer and the only way they know how to end their pain is by ending their life. It's very, very sad because we want to believe that "if only"... but sometimes the truth remains that there is nothing we could have done to help them.

I'm so sorry for your loss.Just this past Saturday I went to the funeral of a 18 year old. He was the son of our friend. He was our friend also. A great kid that hung his self. It came as such a surprise to everyone. The pastor that preached his service was very helpful. He said that everyone always what ifs. What if I had called him, what if I would have came home sooner, what if I would have not fought with him. He said you can't do that. The only person who knows why is in the casket. You can't make it go away. It will never go away you just have to deal with it. I don't think young people realize that this is final. No turning back. You just wish there was a way to understand what could be so bad in their lives that they wish to end it in these ways. Hopefully you and your family have gotten past the what ifs.

Bless your heart, it must hurt a great deal, even all these years later. We lost one friend tp suicide who felt unsuccessful as a professional--he worked hard at not leaving any signs. It was years ago, but the sadness still weighs heavy.

Too many questions still linger about what we missed, what could we have done differently, etc.

I'm so sorry. No one in my immediate family took their life, but a high school buddy who was later a co-worker shot himself on his birthday last year. Still don't know why. He seemed happy, popular, in a successful band. Sometimes you don't know what's going on underneath. I'm sorry to hear about your sister.

I'm so sorry about your sister. I've lost a couple of people to suicide, and I know a couple others who tried but didn't succeed. It sucks.

I had a uncle hang himself. He was suffering from the war and no one would listen to him. When he killed himself then they wanted to listen but too little too late. Sorry about your sister. A lot of people with bipolar syndrome kill themselves.

nope! but I had a very, super duper close friend who was killed by some heartless rapists! It hurts me still, until now because the rapists are still alive and enjoying their lives. Justice was not served to my dearest friend. :(
