I just think to myself you never miss what you never have had.I focus on my children. Before I had my children I focused on my education, career, activities.Anything to better myself and be the best person I could possibly be.Not having a dad made me more determined.I wish you well x

Very much.I have seen my biological father twice since I was old enough to understand what a daddy or a mommy is.I have someone who I consider my father whether biological or not, because he is the one who raised me and he will do anything for me.I went through a point in my life where I was devastated about how my father makes absolutely no effort whatsoever to do so much as talk to me, and I tried calling him and everything you could possibly imagine. Finally, I decided, that if he doesn't make an effort to see me, why should I make an effort to see him?I HAVE a dad.He might not be a biological father, but he is the best dad a person could have, and that is all that matters.Good Luck with whatever you decide.

I have a father who is alive and well and out there somewhere.Like you not all in my life not from the lack of trying, I have met him and tried to stay in contact but he didnt and the way i looked at it was him missing out not me and if he wanted it that way so be it. Some times it bothers me cause i know he has a son the same age as my son, so there for i have a brother i do not know but other then that i couldnt care less.He had a chance to do right and he didnt so his lost not mine.

My dad left when i was 5 my older brother 7 he has come in and out of our life's for 21 years i myself have learn't to live with it. He doesn't remember our birthdays not even our children's or their names when i was about ten i used to pine for him to come take me away from my unhappy home but he never did. Anyway that was a long time ago and how i no its his loss when he does get in touch i don't act like i hate him or yell at him cause it doesn't help anyone i just fill him in on my happy life which is way more pay back than anything and deep down i love him. My brother on the other hand trys to hate him and gets at him instead of embracing the fact he got in touch but he still loves him he just wont admit it so you see every one is different

My sons dad is alive and lives 5 minutes away....and never ever comes to see him. All his other kids he sees but not my son. And i think its because he always made my son empty promises. so the last time he came to get him,my son told him no and he was like 8 at the time. Now hes 13. My son dont even bring him up. Which is fine with me.

Yes I do I have a dad who is a manager for company so it's really hard a lot of times because he's not around much...I deal with it by keeping myself busy you know like going to the movies with a couple of friends to cheer me up or talking to my friends...I just keep myself occupied so I don't think about my dad, but whenever my dad comes back from whatever he has to do I always enjoy the time I have to hang out with him...

his mom left when he was 2 she has contacted him once since then, he is 15 now
i love him with all of my heart and i wish that he had been mine!!! he really has struggled with his life he has ongoing issues as far as interacting goes...............IN LIFE
it is a hard situation for a kid not to have a parent and however you deal with it i wish you luck

I never knew my real dad and I only met him once. I don't keep in touch with him by choice, but I know he is out there alive and well. I don't really think about it much, which I guess is my way of dealing with it.
