Thrush is a mould, a fungus and it sure can spread faster than lightning. it mostly grows in warm, damp, dark place in our bodies such as our mouth causing oral thrush, our vaginas causing vaginal thrush and between our toes causing athlet's foot. so be careful who u share the shower with neh!

Yes, but there is a caveat. Thrush is a fungal infection. As long as someone has an intact immune system, he/ she will not contract thrush. Thrush is seen in infants, those who had organ transplant and AIDS patients because all 3 groups do not have an intact immune system. Infants develop thrush because their bodies are only beginning to develop an immune system. Organ recipients develop thrush because they need to take medicine to suppress their immune system - if they don't take the medication then their bodies start rejecting the transplant. AIDS patients develop thrush because HIV destroys their immune system.

Yes it is. The most common fungus there is Candida. BUT it will only be seen in immunocompromised persons or those who have low immune system or underdeveloped immune system like babies and those who are taking immunosuppresive drugs like cancer patients and also AIDS. God bless

no, mostly babies get thrush from their mouth not being cleaned, and also from not cleaning their bottles/nipples properly.
