Christians do still sin. If you're not a Christian or a follower of one of the other Abrahamic religions, who are you to say that sin isn't all equal? You need to read up on what a sin actually is. A sin is going against what God intended. So, a murder is no more going against God's intentions than being jealous of your neighbor's new car. Neither one is more or less against what God intented. He didn't intend for either.
This doesn't mean that you can murder someone after becoming a Christian and think you're covered. It means that, if you truly feel sorry for what you did and admit it to God, He'll then grant you grace. If you never feel sorry for it, then you never repented.
Do your homework before you try to discuss things you clearly don't know much about.

Then the question becomes did they really accept Christ to begin with. I say flat out no, they didn't.
If one truly accept Jesus then it becomes important to learn what Jesus taught , what he did, and how he lived. If these who claim the faith but don't live the faith are to be believed the their actions will prove who and what they are. Don't you think?
See when I believed then I had to learn, the more I read the more I found out that the things I had been told, many were wrong or twisted around. Many people are good at twisting the Word and using it for their own purposes. But that leads back to the question, Are they truly saved? Again I say no.
Actions speak louder than any words ever will, and if you see me acting on the manner taught by Jesus, I won't even have to say a word. My actions will tell the tell.
You judge the acts of these and see what you think. Then use Christ as the measuring stick and there you will find the answer.
Those who claim Christ by their actions say otherwise, well they will have one hell of an awakening.

I wish some people would at least try to figure stuff out on their own before asking here.
Repeating for the umpteenth time. We are all sinners. Because we believe in a Savior does not mean we're better or worse than anyone else. We've never claimed it..only the people who aren't Christians believe this about us.
Yes, there is punishment for all sins and there is no comparative magnitude. There is also forgiveness for all sins regardless of comparative magnitude.
A liar is the same as a murderer is the same as a fornicator...etc. There is no difference.
PS d Chino is wrong in his answer...God will not be mocked...ask him to read up a little, too.

It doesn't say in the Bible accept Christ and be saved and live in sin. The fact is Christ must accept us. It is Jesus who calls those he fills with Holy Ghost, not the other way around.
Because a Christians sins doesn't mean, they have fallen from Grace, but when we do sin, we plead the blood. Christians job is to be perfect as Christ is perfect. If a Christian is living in sin and is more worldly than the worldly. That person is not in Christ Jesus.
As far as rape and murder go, if the real church was doing their job, something could be done about it.

Look,If a person repents it is through the heart and that is what God looks at.Like murders etc.you mention. As far as sinning after become a child of God,Jesus teaches about how to conduct ourselves and it is through our sins that we see to turn from them. We are not changed immediately,it is a process but the Holy Spirit will show us the bad about our self and when that happens it is up to us then to make the changes. If we are sincere we will. It is supposed to be what the Lord thinks of us that counts.

Even though we have the righteousness of Christ, we still have the carnal man within us. We are tempted by the flesh, and have a choice to yield or turn from it.
As far as those things you mentioned, a person who commits those things after they say they are a Christian, I would be doubtful, but, that is between them and God.
God forgives those sins, for all sins are the same in the eyes of God.
The only sin God will not forgive, is the rejection of His Son, Jesus Christ.

All sin is sin. No one is greater than the other. One of the points of accepting Christ is to try not to sin as much and then once we do learn His ways, learn from those sins we do commit and try not to commit the same sin again.
We are born into sin from Adam and Eve committing the original sin. Everybody sins, everyday. The hard part is reprogramming yourself to do right and not make excuses.
So for those who sin AFTER giving their life to Christ and continue to commit the same sins will be judged accordingly by Christ and not man.

Accepting Christ as your Savior does not make you perfect, by any means, it only makes you forgiven, and it makes you try very hard not to mess up. And you cannot commit a sin knowing that you are just going to ask for forgiveness after wards... then it would not be true repentance... you have to be truly sorry for what you have done, and Jesus knows your heart so you can't fake your way through it.

For ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. I am a Christian and I sin because it is human nature. Nobody is perfect. I have never committed a murder, but any sin against God is a sin. Period. God does not weigh your sins, such as it is not as bad to lie as it is to kill. To God, it does not matter. A sin is a sin and they all have the same weight.

Only God knows the heart of man. Galations 6:7 says "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction: the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the spirit will reap eternal life."...."For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. "(Hebrews 4:12-13 and "Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother." (1 John 3:4-10)
Blessings to you in your search for truth!
