Go to the printer manufacturers website, they have downloadable driver packages based on your operating system.

Most of the time the computer install driver automatic, if that did not happen go to the printer company's site and download driver from there and save on CD.

There are couple of reasons for it. 1st) Your Printer might be plug and play. 2nd) Your Printer might contain USB drive and you computer is WinXp which is compatible and automatically it detects the printer. If these are not your issues you can go to the website of the Printer manufacturer and download the Drivers of the same.
