Yes, dogs usually eat less in the summer months. I know I do not eat as much when it is very hot outside. Main thing is to make sure they have plenty of water.

Yes, it is true. The digestion process creates a sustanciable amount of heat, therefore the heat controlling system( in the hypotalamus) tells the body to eat less to decrease inner heat production. This occurs in warm wheather, the opposite occurs in cold weather.
