This isn't a question but it is very important to let this be known. Currently due to overpopulation at the Hartford (Connecticut) dog pound, they are now killing dogs in ten days of their arrival if they are not adopted. Please do what you can and adopt a dog/s from there if possible.

OMG! That is extremeley smart of you to post this! I'm visting that website! Thats so cruel for somebody to do that! If they don't have room build another shelter. It's not right to let the dosg and cats suffer because some idiot out there let the dogs have pups!

OMG, that is terrible. I'm sorry I cannot help but I don't live anywhere near Connecticut. I do have a stray dog and stray cat (both of which are neutered). And I wish I could do more for the strays. It just seems like 10 days is not enough time to allow for an adoption. Maybe it would help if you could put this announcement in your local newspaper also to reach a larger audience.

This happens because of irresponsible pet owners! Not just idiot breeders like Alyson C (look up her last question about breeding) but owners that get a dog and then change their minds because it isn't what they expected. Rather than trying to save the ones that are about to be put to sleep (nothing will work short of adopting them) but try and get people to have their dogs fixed so we don't bring anymore unwanted animals into the world!

i don't live on the east coast, let alone in hartford,ct, but i hope people that do will go and adopt the dog's and cats.i have taken in many strays that i found living on the streets. in fact i have taken in 3 kittens and a full grown cat in the last few months. i also have 4 house pets of my own. i will take the females in to be spayed. i can't afford to take the males in too. but, i'm trying to do my part.

In our local shelter, owner turned in dogs are put down right away. A couple of years ago, they built a nice new shelter, twice as big as the old one, but it was quickly filled and has not helped the situation at all.

AS SAD AS IT IS 10 DAYS IS ALOT LONGER THEN MOST SHELTERS. ALOT OF SHELTERS NOW ( WITH MONEY AND DONATIONS AND VOLUNTERS) ARE NO KILL SHELTERS MEANING THEY WILL KEEP THE DOGS UNTILL THEY ARE ADOPTED OR GO ON THERE OWN. I HATE THAT IT EVEN HAPPENS I HAVE A FRIEND WHO WONT FIX ANY OF HER ANIMALES AND I HAVE YELLED AT HER ABOUT IT BECAUSE SHE DOESN CARE FOR THEM AND THEY RUN AWAY AND SHE WANTS THEM TO HAVE BABIES SO SHE CAN HAVE BABY KITTENS OR PUPPIES, I SAY YOU WANT ONE GO TO A SHELTER SAVE A LIFE BEFORE YOU CREAT ANOTHER ONE.

Thanks for the public service announcement. How about throwing in a spay/neuter reminder while you're at it...
