I'm on match.com, and I just signed up so I can send/recieve e-mails. I now get women who are on the opposite side of the country e-mailing me. Let me assure you, I don't think this is because my profile is so great. But, I do specify that I'm not interested in anyone more than 20 miles away from me.
Is it spam?
Maybe they're just looking for someone to chat with safely, for whom they've read about and can see a picture of?
I don't know, what do you think?

It's possible she might be practicing. Being that since she's so far away she doesn't feel like you'll ever get the change to really meet, she wouldn't feel as embarrased if it went wrong.

Then again, maybe she is sincerely interested. You never know.

Maybe they have been on so long that they've run through the profiles of all of the interesting people nearby, found no one with whom it would work, and now they are expanding their search in an attempt to find a bigger pool of potential matches to choose from.

Or maybe they are romantic enough to hope that long-distance relationships can work.

Or maybe they feel safer, or less embarrassed, talking to someone who they know will not be able to go gossiping to any of their friends about the lame person that they met on-line.

Well...i met my first love on Myspace a year ago and she lived in Chicago and i live in California....

At first i felt like u..but there was something special between her and i....we only saw each other 6 times in a 1 year relationship...

Well...i think maybe because u KNOW that none of ur family and friends know u on the other side of the country.....most people ( myself included) dont want people to know that im online trying to get a date....so maybe its a security issue...
