Your right about it's all about making money. But if they didn't sell liquor or beer at concerts and other events nobody would go to them and then they wouldn't make money. People should learn to control their drinking or get someone to drive that doesn't drink. But we will always have this problem.

Because back in the day when society wasn't so anal about drinking and smoking like they are today, it was nice to go to a game and drink about 6 beers eat some dogs and get wide. Unfortunately, some DUI fatalities in the last 20 years have demonized the consumption of alcohol all together. Not saying that DUI is ok, but short of making DUI punishable by death, you will never stamp it out completely...even then you would have some taking the risk. Point is....relax all these B.S. rules governing smoking and drinking and let people have their vices for Christ's sake. Ever notice how much less intolerance, stress, and just overall nastiness there was in the world back in the day when a man could freely go pound a few beers after work with the boys without worrying about getting a lengthy prison sentance if he's caught....just a theory I have that I happen to agree with.

It's simple for me: drink or drive. If I go to a party, concert, wedding, anything - and whant to drink, I don't drive. I take a cab or somebody else drive me. If I can't arrange cab or somebody to drive me, I don't drink, or I drink at the begining and wait to sober-up before driving. I was at friends wedding a month ago, it was in a town around 50 miles from where I live, so the cab was out of the question. I had nobody else to drive instead of me, so I had some drinks there at the begining. When it was time to go home, I was sober again. I guess that if I was weak in character, I would have drunk more, couldn't controle my self, but that would put in a danger me and my girlfriend who was with me in the car. That's just the way it is - you have enough strength and reason or you don't. I think that's more a metter of choice. You can choose to be responsible or not to be.
And for your other question - yes, they sell the boose at those events to make money, and they don't care for us. Should it be forbidden? That wouldn't stop people from drinking before they arrive, but it would sure made some difference. So, I think it's a good idea.

You are ALWAYS responsible for your own actions. Even your mother probably asked you "If all your friends jumped off a cliff would you do it too?"
Just because they are selling doesn't mean you HAVE to buy. No if's, and's, or but's about it. I've been to lots of games and concerts and never once bought a beer because I knew I was driving.
The majority ARE responsible for their actions, otherwise there would be over 200,000,000 Americans in jail instead of that many out of it.

It's all about making money one way or the other. Case in point...Texas Stadium where the Cowboys play at one time allowed beer coolers to be brought inside. The only rule was it had to fit under the seats. Well, someone saw a huge profit to be made by disallowing that practise and starting selling beer to the fans.

Of course its for making money. At these places beers are upwards of $8 or more.
Alot of people enjoy having drinks at the game/concert. It's Americana ;)
It IS each and everyones responsibilities for their own actions and it would be discredible otherwise. People need to start having accountability. If you consciously know that you're gonna drink at a venue you would be wise to have someone who is not gonna get hammered so they can drive your shnockered **** home safely and legally.

Most places that serve have a cut-off time. Like at a baseball park-its usually after the 7th inning and no more booze.
Of coarse money drives everything now-days, but people have to be responsible for their own actions!
