i discovered when we began to potty train her about 11/2 years ago, that she is very sensitive in her vaginal area. when i'd help her wipe, she'd yelp a little and told me that it hurt...i took her to her doctor, she took a look and said i shouldn't worry. she didnt see any signs of infection or anything. i know there;s no abuse going on....so...she's four now and she still has the pains. are some girls just more sensitive than others??

Do you use bubble bath or anything else in her bath? What about her panties? Are they cotton only? These can be irritants. Use Ivory bar soap and/or a wet rag and have her wash well. The soreness could be from not wiping well and therefore a cycle. Try showers only. Be sure she dries well. Night gowns and no panties for sleep ...

I'm not sure about the sensitivity part. However, I do find it helpful when I wipe my children's **** that wet wipes or tissue with a bit of water helps cool it a bit. I also use a water squirter to wash it with as an alternative to wiping. Try washing instead of wiping. Hope this helps.

I would go in for a second opinion. See if they can check her urine for infection. Other than that try switching your brand of toilet paper or switching to Kandoo wet wipes (by the wipes in the store).

I hope you find the answer soon.

it could be a water infection, did the doctor send a water sample away to be tested to rule out infection? This is proberly way off mark but do you think she may of put something inside of her like some children insert things into their ears etc, hope this helps.

I'd get a second opinion. Children don't usually complain of pain, with physical whencing, or crying out, unless there really is pain. If nothing else, do it for the piece of mind.

Some are, yes. But maybe she doesn't like how YOU'RE wiping her. Does she complain all the same when she does it herself? If so, then I wouldn't ignore it any longer. Perhaps she just doesn't like anyone else doing it. Maybe she needs to do it by herself if she isn't already.

yes. some girls are just more sensitive than others. Have you considered using those moist wipes, like baby wipes instead of tiolet paper on her?

Go to a different doctor for a second opinion. That's a strange set of circumstances.

actually, I remember when I was little and my mom would bathe me and I was the same way.. It must be a phase cuz I was about the same age... even though that wouldnt make sense since your body experiences pain in order to tell you that something is wrong

I would get a second opinion. Wiping shouldn't cause pain like that.
