I'm having terrible pain in my teeth on the right side upper and lower from clenching. Does anyone know of any ways to relieve the pain? I'm also having sinus pressure pain and that may be accentuating the pain. Those teeth hurt unbearably when eating hot things especially. My dentist wants to make me a mouth guard, but I can't afford that now. I'm having trouble sleeping now because of the pain.

Hi,
I have the same problem called TMJ, I have a mouth guard, and trust me, i know how much money they are!! If yothink it will help, try to get one made, but if it is like $500.00 (thats how much muine was) then you can go to a sport store, and you can but mouth gaurds. and they are $5-$10!!!

Also if you think you might TMJ, you can go to an ENT (ears nose and throat doctor) They are the ones that diagones TMJ!! I have been studding about TmJ alot latley, I know lots about it, I know how it feels, the pain is horriable!! When my teeth and jaws are hurting i just wan to cry!!!

You can also try some tylenol or advil, or when you go back to your dentist ask him about muscle relaxers, they have helped me, also ask him about the mouth gaurd at the sports stoer!!

I know how bas this hurts!!! Hang in there!!!

If you have anumore questions feel free to email me amber563252@yahoo.com
Good Luck!!!!
Amber

I believe you have teeth that are slightly loose and are impacting the nerves beneath. I have an abcess that hurts so much I can't sleep. Try taking IBUPROFEN it is an antiinflammatory which helps mostly with teeth and bones and joints. Secondly moist heat will help like a damp washcloth put in the microwave for a minute. Try buying a mouthguard for football players you can form them to your motuh and prevent too much movement in your mouth.

you can buy a mouth guard for night time at places like CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart.

Also try Tylenol or Advil for the pain...that should help. If it doesn't have your Dr. do some xrays as you may have something else wrong other than just the teeth grinding. (like an infection, abscess, cavity, etc..)

:) hope this helps! Feel better soon.

You really should get your dentist to make you an occlusal splint to wear at night when you sleep. It is expensive but it's worth it.
Have you been to the doctor for your sinus? You could try Sudafed for the sinus or a similar product.
