When you mean house (the building) you say: Mijn huis.
However, if you means house in the sense of "home", it is best translated with one word "thuis".

Example of 1) - Mijn huis heeft drie kamers - My house has three rooms.
Example of 2) - Ik ben het liefste thuis - I prefer to be at (my) home.

mijn huis: my home/my house (The dutch don't really make a distinction between the two)

also, thuis means "at (my) home"
