If they dont have Christ, then they dont have the love of Christ either, and wont accept anyone they dont want to.

You can't make them accept you. Many people loose family when they choose a particular religious or non religious course. I haven't had the opportunity to speak with an atheist so I don't know why you feel the way you do whether it's scientific or because things have happend that make you feel thier is no God. I can only stress that having been raised in a family that did a lot of Bible reading I beleive strongly that their is a God. Even science points to the fact that their had to be an intelligent designer. Jesus said that family problems would be a sign of the last days at 2 TImothy 3:1-5. It is very painful and as long as you feel the way you do, your family may never come around. One of my good friends was Catholic growing up and when she found another religion at the age of 17 she received a letter from them telling her she was out of the family. At that age she knew more about the Bible then they did. She's now 70 and their actions still pain her. She has a large spiritual family now that brings her comfort, thankfully.

Because your family loves you, they can't accept the fact that they believe you will go to hell. In their minds, they are trying to save you. They may never accept the fact that you're an atheist. If they know that you are a good person, then maybe they do accept you, just not your choice. I don't know if there is any way to make them accept that. Maybe the time has come to stop having the conversations for a while. Let them know that their failing to accept you isn't going to get you to change your mind. Good luck.

I know how you feel. My fam is catholic. I turned my back on that church a long time ago. I floundered for awhile without God. Then one day, God found me. I still don't believe the catholic indoctrination, but now I have a one on one relationship with GOD himself. Oh happy day!

I'm afraid you can't make anyone accept you.
Nevertheless, what you CAN do is continue to treat people with love and respect regardless to their own inabilities to do the same and be at peace with yourself.
You need you the most when others turn away from you, so don't let you down!
*smile*
Peace to you.

Well I'm not a Catholic, I'm a Christian. I'm sorry to tell you if you don't believe in God, you will go to hell. Your parents don't want you to go there. It doesn't matter if your a good person you need to have Christ in your life in your heart and with ouy God you are nothing.

I also come from a strong Catholic family & I'm an atheist.
However my family accepts me being a non-believer. We have just agreed to disagree about religion.
I don't try to convience them I'm right & they don't try to bring me back into what they believe.
We love & respect each other.....maybe that's what you & your family need to try.

If your own family won't accept you, what does that tell you about Christianity, the religion of Love?

"How do i make them accept me?"
You can't make them accept you. Just do what you think is right and accept the consequences. That's part of growing up.

If the roles were reversed, I'd say pray for them and love them. So in your case, I'd say love them the best you can and let God take care of the rest in their hearts.
